View Full Version : My Mom doesn't think this is ODD. Can someone please tell me she is wrong.
TVFactFan 01-25-2006, 10:05 AM This guy I work with who is in his mid 50's eats SKITTLES every single day. I think 2 or 3 bags. And I been working with him since July 5th and he hasn;t missed a day. So can somone support me and agree that a grown man eating candy every single day is a little strange?-lol
Kazza 01-25-2006, 10:11 AM There's nothing strange about that. Maybe he's a candy freak, maybe he likes to have a sugar high or a deeper anxiety that he reflects by eating candy in such amounts. :)
Brian Damage 01-25-2006, 11:11 AM I don't think it is weird, but 2 to 3 bags a day is a bit ridiculous.
Stormtracker TF 01-25-2006, 11:19 AM Yeah, it's not weird, just seems a little extreme depending on how big the bags are.
TVFactFan 01-25-2006, 11:27 AM I can't believe this, no one has backed me on this yet-lol
James"Thunder"Early 01-25-2006, 11:33 AM I don't see anyting weird about it, accept maybe he's too addicted to sugar
robyrob 01-25-2006, 11:49 AM maybe the bags are filled with ProzacŪ
dlemond 01-25-2006, 11:52 AM Everybody has their little quirks and rituals.
There is comfort in familiarity and there is stability in our daily rituals. No doubt this Skittle thing is a source of that.
A little obsessive - compulsive personality might be a factor too.
And just to make a guess about this him, I would think that this guy hates change and that he would never want to leave his job. And most likely some major change- like divorce or death- has scarred him.
Pentimento 01-25-2006, 11:56 AM Maybe he was forbidden to eat candy as a child and vowed that when he grew up he'd eat it every day. Still, the fact that people here have suggested addiction, OCD and deep anxiety to explain it suggests that it is a little odd. Maybe someone should hide his Skittles for one day and see what happens.
Kazza 01-25-2006, 12:07 PM Are you saying it is odd because he's over 50 or about the amount of candy?
Like someone said earlier, it could be a case of OCD.
rusyd 01-25-2006, 12:24 PM 2 or 3 bags is a little much, but it's not wierd. He could be a recovoring addict or alcholic?

OK. after asking around the company, i just found out that's what it is. He is a recovering addict.lol I knew it had to be something beyond-"I LOVE SKITTLES"
rusyd 01-25-2006, 01:01 PM Well, I hope that put your mind at ease.;)
TVFactFan 01-25-2006, 01:36 PM Well, I hope that put your mind at ease.;)

Well I was right about a major change at least - giving up whatever he was addicted to.
So much for my other psychobabble
ErikMartin 01-25-2006, 05:35 PM 2-3 bags is a bit much, and I understand the recovery aspect of it, but I dont understand is why the thought of a man over 50 eating candy everyday is weird. Damn I hope when Im 50 I can still eat candy everyday. Something to strive for.

I guess because I lost interest in candy as i got older. candy bars or any type of candy does nothing for me.
Polniaczek033 01-25-2006, 07:43 PM it's a little odd.
but not really.
it's not weird if it's the sour kind. ;)
Penny Lane 01-25-2006, 08:28 PM I am in my mid 50's and I would be as fat as a pig if I ate that much candy. But fortunately I am not into sweets. My problem is meat(which I love) and that is as dangerous to one's health at our advanced age as anything!
Dude111 04-09-2025, 04:41 PM There's nothing strange about that.No nothing at all......
Everyone likes different things........ I hope your not mad at me Solomon for my opinion on this buddy.... I think very highly of you :)
Bonniegirl 04-09-2025, 06:24 PM Not weird, he probably likes the sugar rush . It's just boring . You'd think he'd change it up sometimes with another sugary snack.
TVFactFan 04-09-2025, 06:39 PM Skittles was always the worst candy of all time. If u going to eat candy it can atleast be FRUIT SNACKS
Dude111 04-09-2025, 10:47 PM Ya they are pretty tasteless,etc.............

I know. I don't like Skittles either. :p
Lately I really don't like any sugary candy. Once in a while, gumdrops or licorice . And Candy Cane's at Christmas.
Dude111 04-10-2025, 06:12 PM I think I tried Skittles one time...... They were disgusting :D
I cant believe Solomon reported someone at work eating them like crazy!!!
