I don't know about DVDs, but I did find two great video tapes from mail-order
catalogs. WOODY WOODPECKER & FRIENDS: THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION
features 12 classic cartoons (incl. Woody's very first appearance, in the 1940 Andy Panda cartoon "Knock Knock," the first Andy Panda cartoon "Life Begins for Andy Panda" (1939), Tex Avery's "I'm Cold" (1953) starring Chilly Willy, and a rare Space Mouse cartoon "Secret Weapon" (1963)). It also features clips of Walter Lantz himself from the 1950s TV series THE WOODY WOODPECKER SHOW. The other shorts are "Pied Piper of Basin Street," "Who's Cookin' Who," "Overture to William Tell," "Bathing Buddies," "Smoked Hams," "The Fox & the Rabbit," "Barber of Seville," and "Convict Concerto." With liner notes by Jerry Beck, this video was released in 2002 by Columbia House.

The second one (also found in a mail-order catalog) is WOODY WOODPECKER
COLLECTOR'S EDITION, Vol. 1. It features "Cracked Nut" (a.k.a. "Woody
Woodpecker"), Woody's first starring cartoon; "Banquet Busters" (with Andy
Panda and Woody together); "Born to Peck"; and "The Redwood Sap." This
30-minute tape was released by MCA/Universal, in 1991.
