View Full Version : Pointless, boring or episodes you just didn't like...
Ireneparalegal 01-21-2006, 06:26 PM As I stated on the other thread, the one dealing with the children whose mother is dying and Mr. Ingalls eventually has to find the kids a home.
Also, it is basically a rehash of the above story, when Mr. Ingalls tries to find a home for Cassandra and her brother; he eventually adopts them.
Those two are so boring and dull to me.

There was lot of rehash on LH especially in the later years. It should've ended when Laura and Almazo got married. Actually I never liked grown up Laura or Manly. The show could've ended two or three years earlier than it did.
I think the episode I hate the most is The Halloween Dream. I can watch The Godsister "Elissssaaa! Elissssssaaa!" anytime, but I can't stand this Halloween episode.

Oh me too. That Halloween episode is so stale and just worthless.
The one with Carrie dreaming abt her sister (her twin) I can't watch. I would rather do something like pick up my dogs doodoo then watch that one.

Those two are so boring and dull to me.Oh okay. I should have read this thread before I responded to your post in the other thread like this one. This thread covers boring episodes and unliked episodes too, whereas the last thread just covered pointless episodes. And I said the Patricia Neal episode aka "Mr. Ingalls has to find the kids a home" is technically not pointless since the Edwards' adopt them and the Edwards' are not pointless. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.php?attachmentid=102475&stc=1&d=1135289785
Anyhoo, let me think of some episodes that are not necessarily pointless, but I am bored by or simply hate... "Sylvia"! (Good god)--actually "Sylvia" is pointless too. I want to name one that is not pointless but I just don't like. (And I probably sound stupid thinking out loud right now.) "May We Make Them Proud" is a good one for that. Not pointless--the episode had to explain why we will never see Alice Garvey or Adam Kendall II again. I hate it so much I don't watch it anymore and I couldn't post in the new thread about it to say in detail why I hate it so much... technically I forgot the details of it. I just remember to always avoid it.
Mijada 01-22-2006, 01:23 PM I didn't care for those flashback episodes where they show clips of the older eps.

me either, it only makes me want to watch some of those episodes in full.
The episode where Nels goes out of town and meets that young woman. I don't like that one at all.
catlover79 05-02-2007, 11:49 PM The Halloween episode was dull and pointless, despite the appearance of Phil Carey (veteran of many Western movies; better known these days as Asa Buchanan from One Life To Live).
I'm not a big fan of the blind school fire episode, and I think probably my least favorite of the whole lot is "Sylvia". Even thinking about that story makes my skin crawl. Yuck!
Madame X 05-03-2007, 01:22 AM The boring ones for me are:
-Flashbacks
-When boring characters come to town (Gambini, O'Hara, Lou, Granville)
-When outlaws come to town (Older Brothers, Gallinders, the Jameses)
-When Nels was kidnapped
-Lake Kezia Monster
-Johnny Johnson in the big city
-Halloween Dream
-God Sister
-Mr. Edwards and that monkey Blanche
-James in a coma (pt. 2)
-Most of the ones with the Carters
:sleep2:

Oh God yes, those darn flashbacks. Especially when they did a flashback and the story didn't coincide with something that was already said. I seem to remember there was a Christmas episode where the characters were snowed in and they were telling each other their special Christmas memories...Caroline was flashbacking and the story she told didn't coincide with certain facts that we had already been told abt her childhood. I hate that. I like continuity.
That damn Halloween episode was HORRIBLE AND BORING.
Johnny Johnson was a pain in the a$$. I wish someone would have kicked his a$$ to the curb.
comedyfreak 05-08-2007, 05:59 AM I didn't care for the blind school episodes.
Sterling Holobyte 05-11-2007, 12:24 PM You know, I was thinking about that Halloween Dream episode(mainly because they just showed it today) and I started wondering if they at first intended that to be a serious episode. It could have easily been one.
But then they might have realized how hokey it was and decided to make it a "dream" episode.
Just something I was thinking about.
By the way, since this was Albert's dream, when he passed out while driving the wagon, how did he dream that he was unconscious, since he was already asleep?
Just something else I was thinking about.;)

See, you put more thought into that episode than the writers did!!
Ireneparalegal 09-24-2007, 10:48 PM Let me add the episode when Nels gets kidnapped. :faint: boring.
When the Olsens separate.
Laura and the deaf boy episode.
The blind guy who plays football when the families live in the city.

The Nels kidnapping one was on yesterday and I was so disappointed. It is truly boring. :X) I had it on in the background while I was doing other things. All of a sudden I didn't hear anything. I ran to the living room and my TV had fallen asleep. :sleep2:

 I don't blame your tv for falling asleep. If anything, that is a great episode to use to help put one's self to sleep rather than resort to sleeping aids.
catlover79 09-25-2007, 03:54 PM I nearly fell asleep during the Halloween Dream. The deaf boy is another of my least favorite episodes.
Ireneparalegal 09-25-2007, 08:26 PM The episode where Mr. Edwards falls for that blind YOUNG girl.
catlover79 09-26-2007, 01:17 AM The episode where Mr. Edwards falls for that blind YOUNG girl.
I'd forgotten about that one. EWWWWWWWWWWW.
Ireneparalegal 09-26-2007, 03:15 PM I'd forgotten about that one. EWWWWWWWWWWW.
I guess you really hated it so much, you allowed yourself to "fuh get about it".
snl 70s show fan 09-30-2007, 12:20 AM ive always hated the ep. where charles and almonzo make that stupid bet about who can make it to sleepy eye first who cares? the whole ep was just stupid. and pointless.

Oh God yes, I hate that one too.
The one where Mary goes to that school competition was BORING AS HELL.

Yes, it was pointless. Usually, episodes on any show dealing with bets are stupid. Seinfeld was an exception.

"Are you the master of your domain?" ;) :D
Madame X 10-02-2007, 02:18 PM omg: "Halloween Dream" is on! (Hallmark channel). I can't take it! I will switch to the Brady Bunch on TVLand. I'd rather watch a Brady Bunch episode for the hundreth time that sit through a pointless, boring adventure on the prairie. :wallbang
towhead_72 10-06-2007, 09:51 AM A real yawner for me that appropriately never seems to get mentioned because it's a totally forgettable episode is "The King is Dead" from season six.
Ireneparalegal 10-08-2007, 11:09 PM Add THE WILD BOY to this list. And to top it off, it was a two-parter.
ThomasE 10-08-2007, 11:19 PM The episode when Caroline and Dr. Baker go to that other town and help with the sick people. I'm sorry folks, but that did not appeal to me at all. To this day, I don't think that I sat through the entire episode.

Yeah, that was kind of boring to me also. It had its only moment when that mean husband lost his wife, leaving behind a newborn son. Do I got that storyline right? And then she gave the baby to some other man?
