View Full Version : Season 3 bloopers
Leigh Ann 01-21-2006, 01:13 PM Since the S3 DVD just came out, I thought I would see if anybody has spotted any bloopers.
I spotted one in "Rhoda the Beautiful." Before Rhoda told Mary & Phyllis that she was a semi-finalist in the Ms. Hemple beauty contest, Mary's door was closed, but after she told them, the door was open!
Kristen 01-21-2006, 01:25 PM I found a continuity error. In "What Is Mary Richards Really Like?" when Mary comes in wearing the men's suit, Murray says he bought a suit like that for his son. But he and Marie didn't adopt their son until S5, hehe.
As for the one Leigh Ann pointed out, I never noticed that. Good catch! :)

In one of the early third season episodes, Rhoda makes a remark about her sister's wedding. But it was not until the following year that her sister Debbie got married, so is this yet another sister we don't know about? And of course on "Rhoda" her sister is Brenda, who very single. Debbie and this mystery sister are nowhere in sight. And I remember an episode from late in the "Rhoda" series where Rhoda and Brenda are watching old home movies with their parents. It was firmly established in that episode that Rhoda and Brenda were the only Morgenstern children.

Yes, I have noticed those too. And that's been a discussion before.
But when "Rhoda" began, I'm sure they didn't think of the past references of 'Debbie' from "Mary". (LOL)
I've noticed some bloopers from other Seasons too, I'm thinking of adding threads to them here soon.

Yes, that sister thing bothers me. Plus, Rhoda talked about a brother Arnold at one point, too! Makes you wonder where all those kids could've slept in the Morgenstern's tiny apartment! I liked Brenda a lot, I wish she had appeared on TMTMS at least once along w/ her parents.

KennedyDean 01-24-2006, 10:08 AM I noticed in Season 3 (I don't remember the episode) you can see where the top of Mary's kitchen ends and you see the lights from the set.
OKCRay 02-20-2006, 04:55 AM Here's a link to an older thread where I talk about all the bloopers I've caught from MTM (some of which cross over into RHODA)... enjoy!

Kristen 05-28-2008, 03:14 AM This isn't exactly a blooper, but it's in S3, and I don't feel like starting a new thread, lol. During the newsroom scene in "Rhoda: Minn. to NY," if you look on the bulletin board, there's a pic of Rhoda when she won the Ms. Hempels contest in "Rhoda the Beautiful." I don't think I'd have ever noticed that if I hadn't been watching it on my new portable DVD player, lol.

Never noticed that before. YAY! You got the portable DVD Player! Awesome!
Have you guys ever noticed that in the "Bob and Rhoda and Teddy and Mary" [Season One, Disc 2] episode when Ted stands there in the doorway of the studio asking, "Did I hear someone mention the Teddy's?" that instead of the WJM 12 blue curtain it's still the CBS green curtain?
PGood97041 05-29-2008, 09:05 PM wow...you guys are all very eagle-eyed
i'll have to start looking for bloopers now too...i feel less accomplished for not having noticed any of these!
well, i take that back...i did notice the kitchen shot mentioned above where you could see the studio lights for a few seconds.

Oh, I've had a long list for sometime, and also have added since. Just never posted them up here...yet. haha
PGood97041 04-19-2009, 01:53 AM i just saw this in season 5, but this was the first blooper thread i could find:
in the episode "a boy's best friend", when ted meets his new father, the older man says his name is "walter tewksbury"...in the credits, he's listed as "george tewksbury"
not a huge deal, obviously, i was actually surprised i noticed it. and it really is nitpicking on what is such a fine show acting-wise, writing-wise, and production-wise
for instance, there was a hilarious bit in that episode. ted is all upset that his mother is living in sin, so he barges into lou's office and the conversation goes something like this:
ted: "lou, you don't know what it's like being responsible for somebody who could bring you great embarrassment"
lou: "yes i do ted"
tremendous writing by david lloyd!

I will try and look at that when Season 5 comes out.
I just came across my "Have You Ever Noticed?" list today. It's pretty darn long, in a sense. I started it a couple years ago. I'll try and post it when I can here soon. I'll be out all day tomorrow, but maybe when I finally get home or the next day since I'll be off, I'll try and post my list!
{Yes, that one, Kristen, haha... FINALLY!}
PGood97041 04-22-2009, 05:49 PM also, i just watched "neighbor" in season 5, when lou sells his house and moves into rhoda's old apartment, above mary's
at the start of the episode, lou acts like he's never been in rhoda's apartment and needs to get a tour to see if he'd like living there
maybe i'm wrong, but didn't he and rhoda "date" at the end of season 4, which included at least one scene IN rhoda's apartment?
i'm allowing them a little license on this, though...although it was not one of my favorite episodes it was an OK idea...and you really needed to have the scene where lou and mary "tour" rhoda's tiny apartment and mary tries to talk lou out of moving in without actually saying it

I haven't seen "Neighbors" in a really long time (I'm staying away from my S5-7 N@N tapes, since I know we'll get the DVD's eventually, LOL). Does Lou actually SAY he's never been in Rhoda's before? I'm sure I would've noticed it if he did. B/c you're absolutely right about him and Rhoda dating right before she moved to NY in "Lou's Second Date." And I know in that ep, Lou mentions having been in her apartment before that.

PGood97041 04-25-2009, 03:42 PM it sure seems like he was seeing it for the first time
in mary's apartment he says something like, "i'd like to take a look"
and then when he's upstairs and walks into the apartment and says "i'll take it" without even really seeing it, mary tries to get him to look around (in an attempt to get him to realize how truly small the place is)...he never says anything like, "yeah, i know this place, but i can work with it"
anyway, it's a small thing, and kind of a needed device to even have that episode
scotsguy 04-25-2009, 06:45 PM Ida also mentions Rhoda's brother Gary in one of her guest spots on TMTMS,he disappears out of existence too!
