Hey everyone! So tomorrow I have my first job interview-at Starbucks! I'm not really nervous, more excited and eager. Buuuut, since this is my first job interview I have no idea what to wear. People (mainly teachers) have told their students to wear professional clothes and to maintain a professional look the entire time. So I'm guessing jeans would not be appropriate. What would be? I don't want to wear my normal everyday clothes and have the lady think I'm not responsible enough. But I don't want to overdo it. Any advice? Does anyone here work for Starbucks or know anyone that does?

dress pants and a nice shirt. Like a pair of black slacks and a nice blouse. Go for more of a professional look than necessarily super dressy.

Yeah, business casual works nowadays. No need to get out a business suit for a retail job.

Wear khakis or something.

Thanks for the advice everyone. It went pretty well...she wants to do one more interview before she "fully makes up her mind." So hopefully I'll get the job. I'll let you know if I do!

Ha. Umm...yeah, Starbucks has yet to call me for that second interview. Seeing as how it took them over a month to call me for the first one, I doubt it'll be happening within the next day or so. My friend who works at another Starbucks store says it usually takes a while for them to call back and stuff and to just be patient. But it's so hard! But when I do find out, I will fer sher make a post. Keep your fingers crossed for me till then!

Thought I'd update. Well, after a couple of weeks of trying to contact the manager, I finally got a hold of her today in between classes. She had told me she'd call to set up a second interview, but over the phone she basically told me she didn't need anyone for afternoon and evening shifts and she only needs people for opening (4:30) and that wouldn't work for me. So she told me she didn't need me. And I was really...upset. The least she could of done is called me and told me instead of making me wait and try to contact her every single day which seems really unprofessional.
She said I could go ahead and apply to a couple of other Starbucks stores and that I could list her as a reference since she interviewed me and would be able to put in a good word. That's probably what I'll do.
