I looked at the reviews of the NC Favorites DVD on Amazon. I’ve never seen an average of 1 star.
I’ve never seen anything where the first 12 reviews said: Don’t buy this.
They don't want a Favorites; they want seasons. and boycotting will send a message.
If more people buy Season 1, they’ll make Season 2. So what? Season 2 sales won’t be good either because we don’t want that one. We all want SEASON 3!!! We’ll never get it by boycotting the Favorites.

Something strange happened with Season 1. WB says sales were low. People say there are often no copies at stores: they were either:
1. bought
2. not replaced
3. not stocked in the 1st place

All 3 are strange.

Did Season 1 sell fine or not? Actual sales figures aren’t tabulated, to my knowledge. By looking at the Amazon sales rank, I see that the MTM show is in the 30’s, selling better than most movies, and newer shows!!! Arrested Development is close behind!!!!!!!!!! That show is doing bad in the ratings. Sets of Cheers, Cosby, and Golden Girls is a given. NC was always with them in the ratings.
Now there’s Mork and mindy, Too close for comfort, Dukes of Hazzard?, But they wonder about Night Court????????????????? The show was a hit for years.
What’s going on? What’s Happening?……… that show is out too!!

So, should we boycott? I think those 12 people have a right to be upset at the situation. But I don’t know if their strategy is good. What do you think?

I will buy as well to show support and get, hopefully, another season boxset.

Perhaps they could just miss season 2 and start again with season 3 and release season2 at the end of the season 9?

Well if you want anymore releases I'd buy this, cause any future releases hinges on how well this sells.

I say go out and BUY!!!!! People don't understand that Warner Brothers screwed over the show once. They won't think twice about doing it again. If anything, you should go out and buy the DVD for the cast who NEVER get any respect even to this day. I think they deserve the same publicity and promotion "Seinfeld" does. (I hate that show and am sick of hearing and reading about it.) Say thank you to a cast that made you laugh all those years, because no one ever did thank them for their service. Remember they all got let go in a stupid memo after nine years. "Night Court" was and is a unique show where the comedy is as funny as the first time it aired. It doesn't grow stale. (Well, with the exception of season nine.) In any case, people don't understand that a boycott tells Warner Brothers that you don't care...not that you do. Do you honestly think Warner Brothers cares if you don't go out and buy? They'll just say....okay we don't need to waste our money putting any more seasons out. Let's just scrap it. They'll say that because they are a bunch of over priced bafoons. If you want to do something with an impact, start a petition. Warner Brothers needs to know you're interested, because I doubt they read message boards. It would be better to go out and buy the DVD to rub it in the faces of Warner Brothers. Boosting sales speaks more voulmes than a dip in them. This is the only way you can tell them....you want more "Night Court!" Plus the Best of DVD isn't all that bad. There are classic episodes on it and the price is right.

Whew! I feel better now. Sorry for my rant, but I just had to let it go.

I found myself asking the same question, buy or boycott. I can see both sides, but something tells me that if this "inexpensive" DVD doesn't do well then we can kiss any further Night Court releases goodbye. I'm leaning towards buying.

That's not what their original press release says. They don't mention anything about sales. You are reading too much into what the press release doesn't say. It doesn't expressly state that the sales of the TV Favorites set would affect future season releases, but it doesn't say it will have no impact either. They make no promises about anything.

I will go and buy myself too. Night Court is not alone having trouble getting box set. Happy Days is having trouble getting season box too they only get season 1 for almost 2 year now no season 2 to 10 the fan want Fonzie above the Cunningham garage so they are suck with season 1.

I also want season box of "Alice" too but the best of "Alice" is being released in June 2006 so Im getting the best of "Alice" but no box season is being released. I will get the best of Night Court and Alice too.;)
