I finally got around to watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD. I am up to season 7 now and I must say I finally see why it became a cult hit.

It did take a while to get going. I am glad that WB had the nerve to give it a chance.

The reason I gave it a shot was I really liked Joss Whedon's work on Firefly and wanted to get more of his style. I am glad I did.

Even though I am a 40+ year old male, I really lke the buffy-verse. the only negative I can say is I think the show could have done without the whining Dawn.

Anyone else here a fan of the show?

yep, Buffy's my fave series of all time. The only downfalls IMO were Dawn and Riley. The first season was inferior but I loved every minute of seasons 2-7

Well, I'm past fifty and watched the series when it first aired. I found it to be
an excellent show: high production values, well-written, and a great cast. I
also liked the fact that it had just the right amount (not too much) tongue-in-
cheek humor. I even liked the music, esp. the theme (one of the best themes
in recent years).

In my opinion, Dawn and Spike were the downfall of the show. I didn't like Buffy having a sister. I never liked Dawn, and I didn't like Buffy sleeping with Spike.

I just started watching Buffy last October, but it's definately the best television series I have ever seen. I'm glad many others think so, too!
