What is your all-time favorite episode of W.K.R.P in Cincinnati and why?

That's a toughie, but I think my favorite episode would be "Mike Fright," where Johnny tells his listeners to dump their garbage on the steps of City Hall. This episode has everything: verbal wit, physical comedy, loud humor, quiet humor, farce and pathos. Just about every moment there's another great routine, some of them completely out-of-left field like Venus's conversation with himself ("How 'bout a drink, Venus? No, man. How come? I'm high on life. That's stupid, chump."). And, of course, there's the wonderful moment where Johnny, encouraged by Bailey to talk into the mike as if he's just talking to her, says, on the air: "I sure would like to take you home and kiss you all over in the dark."

My favorite episode was the one where Venus got an offer from a rival radio station, but declined it when he found out they where only hiring him because they needed more minorities because of Affirmative Action. I think this was the first episode that made me realize just how "deep" the character of Venus Flytrap really was.

The Thanksgiving episode where they throw the turkeys out of the helicopter.

Also, when Herb, dressed as the WKRP carp, gets in a fight with the pig mascot from another station.

I am a big fan of WKRP in Cincinnati. I can name the whole cast from Gordon Jump all the way around to Jan Smithers and Richard Sanders. Two episodes that stick out in my mind is Real Stories where Peter Marshall the former mc of Hollywood Squares was following Herb around in his house and Herb was trying to have his family act like the All-American family. The other episode was where Johnny and Venus are sitting in the booth taking a sobriety test. Venus and Johnny were so hilarious in that episode.

I have a ton of favorite episodes!! I loved Turkeys Away, the baseball one (I felt sooooo sorry for Les!), the one where Les goes on a date with Jennifer, the one where Andy comes to the station, tons more! But my all-time favorite is the one where Johnny leaves the stations and they hire that new guy who has cocaine! The end is so funny!

Andy: Where's the cocaine?
Doug: I don't know. I guess Carlson puts it on his feet!
(Doug leaves)
Carlson: I've lost all the feeling in my leg!! Good God Andy, I'm hooked!
Andy: Mr. Carlson, you're NOT hooked!
(Carlson starts hitting his foot)
Carlson: I've got a monkey on my foot!!

"Childish? Childish? Coming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat!" -Laverne

"Well at least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!" -Shirley

"Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!" -Laverne

MY FAVORITE EPISODE IS "REAL FAMILIES" BECAUSE IT WAS VERY FUNNY AND ONE OF THE MOST CREATIVE EPISODES EVER PRODUCED FOR A SITCOM.

ONE OF THE FUNNIEST HALF HOURS IN THE HISTORY OF TELEVISION!

BY THE WAY "TURKEYS AWAY" IS MY SECOND FAVORITE EPISODE OF WKRP IN CINCINATI.

I like the one where Jennifer has 2 pretend she's married 2 Johnny cuz that guy wants 2 marry her and I like the one where they sing the funaral commercial and the one where Jennifer dates Herb and the one with the tornado. I love the part when Andy goes "Hello" in that stupi voice. Oh and I also love the one where Jennifer moves and her neighbor likes her and his wife is jelous and the phone salesman is a sex pervert! Oh and I like the one where Bailey stayes at Johnny's house and the one where that guy takes pictures of Jennifer nude an th guys go and get it. An i love the one where Andy first comes and johnny says "booger" an I like the one where Mr. Carlson's mom comes and they show clips from episoes. OK i like WAY 2 many episodes and this isn't even my fave show, Three's Company is. Di anyone see the episode of Three's Company where Loni Anderson guest starred as the girl on the airplane? She was really bad in it! But she's goo on WKRP.

Mr. Furley: "Once a tippytoes, always a tippytoes."
Cindy: "I guess I messed things up, huh?"
Terri: "Janet? Shut up and get married."

I don't think I could narrow it down to just one favorite. Of course, who doesn't love "With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!" I also love the one where Johnny and Bailey are trying to get back Jennifer's dirty pictures, the most improved station one is great.

My favorite episode is the one where Johnny and Venus do the alcohol test and Johnny's reaction time increases. And Venus wanted to wear a hat because the officer had one. Then at the end the WPIG pig is painting the lobby and Johnny says hes drunk, he just say a giant pig painting the lobby!

2. The episode where Darlene moves in with Les.

3. The Christmas episode that parodies "A christmas carol"

As a weather nerd, I would have to say that "Tornado" is my favorite episode. It has a lot of accurate safety information, and is an excellent public service-type episode. The scene where Mr. Carlson coaxes the little girl to safety over the air warms my heart every time I see it!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the episode with the Dayton Poisoner. Mr. Carlson, Herb and Andy take a trip to Dayton to convince Vicki VonVicki to advertise her jeans on WKRP. In the meantime, Mr. Carlson mistakes an undercover detective for the Dayton Poisoner. Oh, and Herb has a touching reunion with an old buddy of his from high-school who is now a girl. Absolutely hysterical!

Jennifer - How was the meeting?
Andy - Well, I don't think she's going to sue us if that's what you mean.

That ep was stellar! Then again, all of them pretty much were, so this is too hard a question.

I always enjoy seeing the 2 parter where the transmitter blows. "It's the PHONE COPS!!!!"

I wish I didnt record over it a few months ago, it might be awhile before it's shown again. Also, Les On a Ledge and Fish Story (is that the one where the DJ's do the drinking test?)

Too many classic eps!

Fire, when Jennifer and Herb are stuck in an elevator together and Johnny saves the day.

Turkeys Away - "Alot of turkeys don't make it through thanksgiving" always cracks me up.

Filthy Pictures pts. 1 and 2 - Jennifer: "How nude was I in the pictures?" Mr. Carlson: "Oh, um, nude nude." Jennifer: "How do they look?" Mr. Carlson: "Oh just um, er, real good...."

Bomb Scare - especially the part with Johnny and Venus broadcasting from the control tower

Fish Story - especially the segments with Johnny, Venus and the HWY patrol man. The capper is when the HWY patrolman gets fed up and starts getting drunk himself by the end.

Turkeys Away, I also like the one where Jennifer pretends that Johnny's her husband to get rid of an old boyfriend.

Turkeys away.....you could almost call it the perfect WKRP episode, I mean, if you wanted to describe the series, how could you do better than: Small, struggling AM station has its best promotion idea ever, sending 100s of live turkeys plumetting from a helicopter....making them instantly dead turkeys, prompting protests from everyone and costing the station even more bad publicity than they were already getting previously! So, the struggles continue!

OH Nuts!

My favorite episode is the one where Mother Carlson wants to change the format of the radio station. Everyone's really upset and wants to change her mind. But it's Johnny Fever who saves the day. He visits her and cleverly goes tit for tat. During their argument, she lets him know that money wasn't the reason for the change. Johnny eyes light up because he realizes that the reason she's using (to get better ratings) is a lie. It's really because WRKP was set up to lose, but didn't. He says "You're telling everyone you want WKRP to be #1 but you'd be happier if we were 16th." "How'd do you think your son would feel if he knew." Mother Carlson, although a hard nosed businesswoman, loves her son and knows how hurt he'd feel to know what little faith she has in him. When Arthur comes to the house, Johnny Fever calls her bluff and subtly threatens to spill the beans unless she backs down on the format change. She does. It's a great episode. and INCREDIBLY FUNNY. I'm going to look up the name.

I like nearly all of them but one that stands out is Venus Rising, where we see how Venus first went from teaching to becoming a DJ at WKRP.
Also his image was partially put together by Andy of all people.
