Hey, everybody! I just downloaded what I suppose was the "first draft" version of the WKRP theme song. It contains the familiar lyrics that we hear on TV, plus a couple more verses! Here are the lyrics, in case anyone is interested:

Baby, if you've ever wondered,
Wondered whatever became of me,
I'm livin' on the air in Cincinnati,
Cincinnati, WKRP!

Got kinda tired of packin' and unpackin',
Town to town, up and down the dial,
Maybe you and me were never meant to be,
Just maybe think of me once in a while.

Headin' up that highway leavin' you behind,
Hardest thing I ever had to do,
Broke my heart in two, but baby, pay no mind,
The price for finding me was losing you.

Mem'ries help me hide my lonesome feeling,
Far away from you and feelin' low.
It's getting late, my friend, my love, I miss you so,
Take good care of you, I gotta go.

Baby, if you've ever wondered,
Wondered whatever became of me,
I'm livin' on the air in Cincinnati,
Cincinnati, WKRP!

Got kinda tired of packin' and unpackin',
Town to town, up and down the dial,
Maybe you and me were never meant to be,
Just maybe think of me once in a while.
I'm at WKRP in Cincinnati!

You can obtain this song from the Gnutella network. Just search for "WKRP in Cincinnati" or "TV themes", and if you see a file for WKRP that is around 2.5MB, that is the long version!
