That's right. USA has confirmed that they are bringing "Monk" back for two more seasons, running into 2008! They've said that the two new seasons will consist of 16 episodes each and run the same way that seasons 2,3 and 4 have run (split in half).

That means that:
Season 1: 12 episodes
Season 2: 16 episodes
Season 3: 16 episodes
Season 4: 16 episodes
Season 5: 16 episodes
Season 6: 16 episodes

The total at the end of season six will be 92 episodes. It also means that Natalie will end up being in more episodes than Sharona. As long as she stays on the show, of course.

I'm glad the show is getting at least two more seasons. However, I'm anxious to see how they end the show. I want the truth about Trudy's murder!

That's great news! I don't suppose there's any word on whether all six seasons will eventually be on DVD as well. I'd assume so since they released the first three already, but I've learned not to count on anything in the world of TV DVDs.

As for Trudy's murder, I thought they'd follow up on the "six-fingered man" clue from the first episode of season three, but they never did. Maybe they're saving it for the last episode of the last season.
