I am in college working on my bachelors and I decided to take a Math class that I have been dreading but knowing I have to conquer my fear to get my degree.

The class has been filled to the brim, and most of us are really hoping to pass the course trying to be as optimistic as we can, but while I have a pretty severe case of ADD, I always MUST sit up front because it's the only real way I can really absorb the information. This one lady, probably in her 40's, has seemed to manage to find a seat next to me two class periods in a row, and she spends most of the class period mumbling to herself, not about the material, but about "god I ****ing hate this ****" and "this class sucks"... earlier today she started going on about "I should drop this class" and I kinda uttered "please do" in responce, and this was before she started screaming at the teacher because we don't have our books in yet.

I seriously hope she does indeed drop, because this class is going to be hell enough as it is without a negative bitch trying to make everyone else as miserable as she is. I really want to pass this class, even a C (and I always strive for A's) will be sufficable for me. I know, I know about try to sit away from her... and I did that today by sitting on the other side of the room, and yet she arrives 20 minutes late and then sits near me. I swear to God that I am going to tell her off next class period if she shows up and does her **** again, having a negative and ugly attitude is not going to boost class morale, especially when I have been dreading this course as it is, and I am NOT going to drop it over one bad apple that everyone in the class talks about behind her back.

That's a drag. You dread the class to begin with and have to put up with someone like that. It depends on your comfort level, but perhaps you can approach her after class and explain that you're having difficulty with the class as well, and she's compounding your stress.
