Guys,

This is really a surprisingly good episode, and I had forgotten about it until I watched it on DVD. This is the one where Mary Ellen Rogers manipulates Beaver so that she can get Wally to take her to the school dance. Beaver is very perceptive in this episode and shows some great sensitivity for his age at the time.

The disorganization at the beginning of the episode where June isn't home from a school PTA meeting or something has Ward trying to make dinner and Wally and The Beaver trying to help with some sutle humorous results.

Ward calls June's attention to some stupid things sometimes, and in this episode Ward finds out that she tries to use his hedge-clippers to cut tar paper! LOL! Ward's in the kitchen trying to get the tar off the clippers and tells Beaver what he's doing when Beaver asks him. "Gee Dad, aren't you 'sposed to cut hedges with 'em?!" Ward then tells Beaver some funny lines about the "unpredicatability of women" and how hard it is to understand them! Beaver learns from Ward's advice how Mary Ellen was trying to use him to get to Wally. A very good and often overlooked episode!

It was also the episode where Mary Ellen "wooed" Wally with ginger ale and doughnuts.
