I`m trying to find out the name of one of the characters that once played in an episode. I think he played a cousin of Barney. He came to visit Barney one episode and he could not do anything right. Everything he tried to do something bad would always happen. At the end of the episode Andy had asked him to shine the keys to the jail cell thinking that no one could mess that job up. But he cleaned them so good that he had worn them thin and they would no longer open the lock.

Can anyone out there tell me is character name or more importantly his "real" name.

CW Moss himself.Yep. But I remember him best from his appearance on "Star Trek". That episode gave me nightmares as a kid. Interesting bit of trivia: An exterior set from "The Andy Griffith Show" was used in that episode, so Pollard was sort of in Mayberry twice.
