I found an update on E! from Kristin....

From Rory: Is it true Charmed's future is now very much hanging on how the explosive episode on Jan. 15 performs?

Kristin: Unfortunately, I'm told it would take a ratings miracle to save the show at this point. By all accounts, the show is likely to be a goner. So, we might want to start preparing ourselves for the inevitable. Sorry!

Yeah, I mentioned earlier in the new episode thread that it had a big budget and if it underperformed it would probably lead to cancellation.

I think it's been pretty obvious this is the final season for awhile. The show has pretty much come full circle though it would be nice to have Leo and Prue back in the series finale because Brian and Shannen were very important parts of the show and would be great to see them one last time for the final episode. Season 8 almost wasn't even expected to happen, so just enjoy the show for the few more months we have it, it'll have ended with just under 180 episodes, which means it be in the same vicinity as Seinfeld, Three's Company and The Golden Girls have had, that's pretty nice company to be in, it also will have had a season and a half more worth of episodes than Buffy (which ended with 144 episodes after 6 1/2 seasons), which was Charmed's "rival" for a time.

Since Prue Halliwell died, I wouldn't look for her to return. (O.K., I suppose her
SPIRIT could return. After all, it is a fantasy show.)

True. Nobody really "dies" on shows like these. Prue's just hibernating.;)

Personally, I'm a Prue man. I don't think Paige (Rose McGowan) ever really fit in. She didn't have the same chemistry with the other two that Shannen Doherty did. I know that's a given, but I never warmed to Paige.

Just my two cents.

Hey, the show's had an eight-year-run...not too shabby in my book.

Grams and Patty were both dead before the show even began, didn't stop them from appearing many times, lol

You're right! "Charmed" is a great show and it's going to end very soon in March. After 8 seasons, "Charmed" is finished, just like "Full House", "Sex and the City" and "Friends" had already ended their shows. "Charmed" is the only show is going to cancel, good news for WB!

I think most shows if they're lucky have four or five good years. The first season of just about any show is usually not that great, as the actors are getting to know each other and the characters and the writers and producers are getting to know what the actors are capable of.

Most shows usually hit their stride in the second or third season and if they're lucky, can ride that for two or three seasons.

I would say Charmed is lucky to have had an eight-year run. Better that it goes out on top creatively than just drag on to the point where people are going "Is that show still on...? "

true, like Malcolm In The Middle, lol

TV Guide made a comment about how The Bernie Mac Show is reaching it's 100th episode, yet Fox has buried it on Friday night with Malcolm In The Middle and they wrote something to the effect of "Yes, that show is still on."
