View Full Version : Bad News - From Variety
This is looking more and more like this may be it. I just read this article, and this is the last paragraph:
On the comedy front, both "How I Met Your Mother" and "Out of Practice" have the potential to be around for years, and the net's upcoming Julia Louis-DreyfusJulia Louis-Dreyfus laffer holds some appeal as well. This is key as vet"King Of Queens" is nearing the end of its run.
So, if this is true, it would be explained why they're so many reruns. They may just be gearing up for one final push of new shows and then the series finale. The date on this article is January 2nd, 2006.
sweetdiggity 01-10-2006, 03:25 PM That's very depressing........:(
Justfuhgetaboutit 01-12-2006, 07:34 PM Yea I know it is depressing. I've been watching the show for like 3-4 years and now I'm attached to it. But at least they sell the seasons on dvd so eventually all the of the seasons will be on dvd then we can watch any of them whenever we want. A positive aspect of this I guess is that with Leah being on the show she gained at least some popularity which may qualify her for some headlining roles in movies later down the road, kind of like my idea.
troopoleon8897 01-12-2006, 08:05 PM I think CBS is going to talk them into doing a 9th and final season next year. I think they are gonna try to expand their sitcoms so they can be the # 1 network in sitcoms aswell as dramas... here's how I think they'll do it
I think nex year they might move CC to Ten on Sundays and put 4 sitcoms on from 8-10 (I Think OoP, CA and either 2 new shows or SS and YD) and Then on Monday Groom HIMYM to be TKoQ Predocessor and follow it by TaaHM and TNAoOC and CSI:Miami.
This is also how I think they should finish the show, Have Carrie Get Pregnant at the end of this season. then all next season build up to the birth with the return of Holly, With Carrie Telling Doug to move the big screen into the house, Aurther Thinking About Moving Out. Then In The final 2 part episode have Carrie give birth with the regular cast mates and guest stars (Lisa Rieffel as Sara Spooner, Larry Ramano as Richie, and Ricki Lake as Stephanie Heffernan) getting updates in the waiting room from doug while reminensing and then the 2nd part of the episode will be a week later when carrie and doug bring the baby home...
let me know what you think...
Meanings:
CC - Cold Case
OoP - Out Of Practice
CA - Courting Alex
SS - Still Standing
YD - Yes, Dear
HIMYM - How I Met Your Mother
TKoQ - The King Of Queens
TaaHM - Two And A Half Men
TNAoOC - The New Adventures Of Old Christine

I think everybody EXPECTS the show to end this way(baby).I can't help but wonder if the producers and writers will throw us a little twist:)
SpenceOlchin 01-12-2006, 08:54 PM One more season for the show, IMO is a must. I don't know what I'd do without it?:(
HuntingtonM15 01-12-2006, 09:16 PM I obviously hope for at least one more season. I really can't imagine the show being over in just a few months. To me, it just seemed like a show that would always be there! By the way, I think Yes, Dear is pretty much over.
the truth 01-14-2006, 01:23 AM Troopoleon8897 abbreviates all of the CBS shows in his post and then puts their meaning at the end of his rant.
Uh....am I the only one who finds this funny?
I mean, if you're going to take the time to spell out each show at the bottom of the post, why not just list them IN your post and avoid the key at the bottom?

Rant, I hardly call that a rant...
and at first I abbreviated all the shows and then thought people would keep asking me what they were so instead of going back and erasing them I put a key, Im so sorry for being considerate, lol
sanrio908 01-14-2006, 04:03 PM i dont think it will end next year cause leah put a new message on her board at www.leahremini.net or .com saying that she's happy to be filming another year of the show so YAY!!!
kate1389 01-26-2006, 04:27 PM that would suck if this show might end this year cuz my other fav, fav, fav, fav show might be ending and its a total downer.

whats your other favorite show?
jpcanes 01-26-2006, 05:41 PM whats your other favorite show?
from her profile i'm gonna guess Charmed!!???:)
Brian Damage 01-26-2006, 05:46 PM I think you may be taking that line a little too literally. Yes, it is true that KOQ is nearing the end, but that's because it has been on for a long time and the end is in sight. It doesn't mean it will end this year. When you have a veteran sitcom on for years, they always say it is nearing the end of its run.

i agree with you
troopoleon8897 02-04-2006, 12:44 AM Well this doesn't make it official but Wikipedia.org says this is the last year...
The King of Queens is an American situation comedy series that debuted in 1998 and is still running as of the 2005-06 season on CBS, which will be its last season. It is also in syndication, and will start fall 2006 on TBS.
SpenceOlchin 02-04-2006, 08:54 AM I wouldn't take any article on Wikipedia or any website seriously, until there is official word from CBS, the cast members etc.
I'm hoping for one more season.

Well i heard that the last season would be 2006-2007. butt it should last to 2008 i mean there is no other show like it. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. did it and the KOQ is just as good or better

if it lasted till 2008 it would be 11 seasons and I just don't see that happening, maybe 1 more but 11 i dont think so....
sweetdiggity 02-04-2006, 12:57 PM Don't count them out just yet......

If it ended in May of 2008, that would be 10 seasons. But yeah, I don't think that site is too reliable at this point.
