I publish a Moody Blues fan magazine. A reader recently submitted a WKRP-related question, and I'm hoping someone on the board can help. Although I used to watch WKRP, it's been so long that I don't recall if the question relates to a single episode or an ongoing theme. Our reader says: "Venus had a gong in the studio and would start his show by reciting a poem or monologue in a soft voice. Was this a take-off on the Moody Blues' 'Nights in White Satin,' including the ending poem, 'Late Lament'?" If you have an answer, please email me at hhemail@aol.com. Also, it would be great to have a frame grab of Venus and the gong (if in the same shot), or just Venus at the mike to run with our Q&A. Thanks in advance any help anyone can provide. I am familar with both WKRP and the poem by The Moody Blues. It's not the same. The lines Venus spoke seem to change from episode to episode. Had it been The Lament from Nights in White Satin, wouldn't the producers had to give screen credit? The next time an eposide comes on with Venus and the gong and a poem, I will jot it all down.

Hope this helps.
