I don't know. There are just too many good ones.

My favorite was when they found their childhood time capsule and each had to read what they imagined their futures to be. My favorite "future" was Helen's-seeing Brian and Casey as sleazes. They were sooo funny!

Almost EVERY episode is a favourite, but the shows with Carlton were special!!!
Also, Antonio shows were always great, particularly one when he had purchased new leather shoes and he was trying to break them in.
WINGS...just the best

Ummm... probably "Love Is Like Pulling Teeth". When Helen gets her wisdom teeth pulled and Joe has to take care of her. It was so hilarious. :rotflmao: There are so many awesome episodes though.

Love is Like Pulling Teeth wasa great episode. I wish I had Joe taking care of me when I was sick :D I also love Murder She Roast, What the Cabbie Saw, Blackout Buggins, Insanity Claus, and so many more!

Ditto about being taken care of by Joe.

"Murder She Roast" is awesome especially at the end where Brian hits his head on the sink and then Fay accidentally hits Joe in the head with the leg of lamb and knocks him out cold and then Helen comes into the kitchen and screams cuz she thought Fay had killed them and that Brian's thoughts of her being a serial killer were true. :rotflmao:

I also love the one with the grease gun and fire extinguisher fight between Joe and Helen.

The one where Helen gets a green hair, a black eye and blotches and the one where she gets a concussion.

I could talk about my favorites all day though. :)

Well, I love the episode where Joe proposes, but my other favorite is when Helen is trying to get ready for her date with Davis, and she ends up with a house full of people, green hair, a black eye, etc!

My favorite episode is in the third season, where Joe and Brian's old house has been condemned. The brothers, Helen, Lowell and Roy all decide to trash the house themselves. On of my favorite jokes in the episode is:

Helen tells some memory involving her and the Hackett brothers.

Lowell: I'll never forget that time. They can't take childhood memories like that away from you.

Helen: Lowell, you weren't there, we didn't even know you then.

Lowell: Oh, I guess they can take childhood memories like that away from you.

Insanity Claus "That was BOB'S jelly donut!"

The one with Joe and Brian's childhood house.

Blackout Buggins

Planes, Trains, and Visiting Cranes

My Brother's Back- and there's Gonna be Trouble!

Airport '90

another one of my favorite episodes was the one called 'One flew over the Coopers Nest' ... where Sandy's return sends Joe to the psychologist,as no one believe's stories of her obsession with him.The psychologists does wonders to calm Joe down, but the real psycho is revealed when Joe meets
Sandy in the vacant psychologist's office.

My fave episodes:

The "Ann Margret" Trivial Pursuit game

The three "Psycho Sandy" episodes

Helen deperately (and unsuccessfully) trying to get ready for her date with Davis (to which Lowell keeps reminding us: "Dinner, not ready!")

The hypnotism episode (Lowell: "Once, when I was out of underwear...") where Roy goads the others to dig a hole for his new hottub

Antonio learns to play guitar ("My goat knows the bowling score, Halleujah!")

The hangar battle between Joe and Helen, culminating with the famous oil gun/fire extinguisher shootout

:talk: Mine would have to be the episode when the guys (except Antonio) go to the Turtle Shoals timeshare golf resort to try to jusy play golf and avoid the salesmen. They get caught and have to spend four hours in a sales presentation. Brian had to lie to get Joe to come, claiming that the vacation was his treat and Roy saw through it and blackmailed Brian into bringing him along. After the presentation is over, a tropical storm hits and they are stuck in their room, which was only meant for one person but is holding four. They are quickly miserable and Roy tries to play golf in the storm, but almost gets hit by lightning. That night, Roy takes the only bed, so Joe and Brian take the sofa bed and Lowell sleeps on the floor. Joe and Brian try to sleep but Roy's snoring keeps them awake. Brian hits him with a shoe and he stops. Just when they are finally able to sleep, smoke from the fire causes the smoke alarm to go off. Back in Nantucket, Antonio drives Helen mad by playing "Michael Row The Boat Ashore" on his guitar over and over. It doesn't occur to him to learn more tunes. This is a classic episode with the classic theme of frustration and the desire to choke the life out of somebody.

Oh gee... there are so many Lowell moments... *sigh*
'Sports and Leasure' where Lowell answers "Ann Margret" to all the Trivial Pursuit questions.
'The Waxman Cometh' just for the scene where Lowell wears the tuxedo with coattails! :eyes:
'Mathers of the Heart' because there are just some times where Lowell can be really ADORABLE!!!
'The Person Formally Known as Lowell' because it makes me sad EVERY TIME!
'Another Wedding' because of the scene where Lowell dances with Alex and sings 'Isn't it Romantic'.

I can't believe I haven't posted on this thread yet! I have SO many favorite "Wings" episodes it's not even funny LOL. Let's see, I really like "The Puppetmaster," "Airport '90," "Nuptuals Off," "There's Always Room for Cello," and "Sports and Leisure." And of course, "Whose Wife is it, Anyway?" 1&2. Also any of the Carlton or Sandy Cooper episodes. Those were just hilarious!

I could go on all day, but those are the major ones. I'll probably think of a bunch more the minute I post this, LOL.

It's so hard to choose a favorite.

"Whose Wife is it Anyway?" is #1. Just thinking about it makes me smile.

Other favorites (in no particular order):

Hell Hath No Fury Like a Policewoman Scorned

Is That a Ten-Foot Sandwich or Are You Just Glad to See Me?

Burning Down the House (1 and 2)

My Brother's Back - And There's Gonna Be Trouble

Blackout Biggins

It's So Nice to Have a Mather Around the House

Twisted Sister

Oh, the hell with it. I can't think of an episode I don't like!

One I like but don't know the name of it is where they get hympotised and Roy Lies and says he stole money from a bank and buried in his back yard only to have the rest of them find blue prints of him putting in a hot tub.

Also liked Murder she roast where Brian thinks Faye is the murderer from seeing a picture of a lady on a unsolved mysteries type tv show.

Sports and Leasure were Lowell answers Ann Margret for every answer until Roy teams with Faye and he loks at Faye and says I don't care if that is the answer don't say it and Faye says Ann Margret and Roy blows his top.

Where the guy in the weather tower goes nuts after finding out Antonio is datig his wife and holds the airport hostage and then someone says after taking the last donut sorry I didn't know you wanted the last donut, thinking that is why the weather tower guy was mad since he always bought a donut from Helen.

Do you know how long it's been since I've watched an episode of Wings?
I don't think that I've seen one in at least a few months.
I've watched more Sliders than I can handle, but it's been a while. I should get out my tape that has the episode 'Another Wedding'. It's one of my favorite episodes. Thomas sings a little at the end... and I love it when Thomas sings, which isn't often.

My favorite all time Wings episode is the first ever episode I saw of Wings, it was Season 6 Episode 107 titled "Insanity Claus". This episode is a perfect example why Wings was so great, it was an episode about a jelly donut.. Lowell at his funniest... the part at the end where Joe makes fun of the gang to make the jelly donut guy feel better but when he gets the gun from the jelly donut guy and says "I have the gun" and the police came and he wanted to be backed up the gang just walked away... I loved every episode but this one stands out because it was the first episode I ever saw and made Wings and for that moment on it Wings was my all time favorite sitcom...

Cheers fan or not, it really is one of the best episodes of Wings. Certainly one of the most significant, as it was the only one to get an Emmy nomination (for Kelsey Grammer).

Everything about it just clicks, and had they replaced Frasier and Lilith with a different psychiatrist couple, it would have been equally funny. But having them put it over the top.

Joe and Helen's wedding

When Roy cons Helen into pretending to be his fiance and Joe is Arturo the houseboy.

The vacuum cleaner episode

"Is that a 10-foot Sandwich"

When Lewis thinks Carlton is dying and the gang comes to scope out Carlton's stuff

"Death Becomes Him" When Joe and Brian lose Kingsbury's body and Joe has to get in the casket to pretend to be the corpse. (MY all time fav, this one!)

I'm the only one I know would pick "Joe Blows". Wings had a few of those kinetic energy episodes, like Helen getting ready for Davis, or flying to Mexico with Brian for the quickie divorce. But there's something about Joe Blows, right from the film noirish beginning with the saxophone, to all the stuff that's heaped on him from the cast. Part 1 moreso than 2, 2 settles back into a normal mode. But part 1 is the cast at its best, handling the timing of the scenes perfectly.

spunkygirl

Joe Blows may not have been one of the funniest, but it was one of the most touching moments, along with the return of Joe and Brian's mother. Beautiful writing and acting. Can someone please explain to me again why the cast members and Wings itself never got any awards nominations? :( How Patricia Heaton can win an Emmy for rolling her eyes and screaming while the Wings cast went unnoticed really perplexes me. Proof the Emmys is a big popularity contest. </rant>

SNPP is Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, where Homer works on The Simpsons. I haven't worked at the supermarket since January, and I miss it so very much...NOT!!! :p I work as a special education aide at an elementary school now. I've been there for about a year and I absolutely love it. It's so nice to work at a job where you actually get treated with some respect and dignity. The best part is that I don't have to put up with any crap from the kids like I had to do with customers  I'm generally nice, but my kids learned pretty quickly that I don't tolerate rude, disrespectful behavior at all.

Anyhoo, to make this post somewhat Wings-related... Blackout Buggins was another classic gem.

Gosh, to pick my favorite episode. I don't know some of them by title so forgive me...

Joe Blows, as someone mentioned above was awesome. And yes Tim Daly deserved many awards for that..the blow up was phenomenal.

I loved Joe and Helen's wedding, though a part of me wishes that they would've done it seriously, with him actually standing up at the altar, not with his hand in a toilet. I know it's a comedy show but that was such a proud and important moment..*shrugs* I still love that they got married though.

I also like Raging Bull I think is the name of it when Joe and Brian go head to head in the boxing ring. The whole bit of Helen training Joe and witholding sex and Antonio training Brian.
"You call yourself a trainer. I'm tough with Brian, but you never see me with-holding sex." Not the exact quote but it's so great how they just stare at him! hahaha

It's so hard to pick favorites. :)

That's one of the few moments in Season 8 that really gets me ROTFLMAO :rotflmao: After Antonio says that, he says something like, "Wait a minute... that didn't come out right!" Antonio is always so funny when he says stuff like that.

The two scenes where Lowell smacks on the hand with the wooden spoon are hilarious. Watch Brian's reaction the first time

...to remember them all, but some definitely come to mind with no thinking!

-- The fight between Joe and Helen in the terminal, where they're covered with foam and grease. Helen whips her head back and her hair smacks her in the face -- I lose it every time!

-- Antonio singing "My goat knows the bowling score" and then other variations all day long in the terminal, while the boys are all out of town crammed in a resort room in a hurricane.

-- The bet they make over who had the worst time on their video date. Joe with that woman and her dummy... OMG, haaaaaaa!

-- Joe and psycho Sandy in the basement at her fake "prom night."

-- Brian and Alex rent a cabin in the woods for their first intimate weekend together, and Joe and Helen crash the "party" because the weather's too bad to fly out after they dropped them off. Brian and Joe argue about mimes and Joe does some miming -- kills me!

-- When Joe loses it and takes off for the islands, abandoning the biz.

-- Brian and Mimsy... "Brian with an I." That Tyne Daly is just such a great actress. I love seeing her appear with her brother, also great.

-- Lowell buys a wax museum.

Come on Season 6!

Boys Just Wanna Have Fun and Here It Is: The Big Wedding

I know that this is an old thread but since I'm new to the board, I guess I should share some of my favorites, too

The Puppetmaster- Brian dangling his fingers as if he controlled people, Helen comiing out with the fake chello and bangs it on the counter (the look on Joe and Brian's face are priceless), and of course I enjoyed this episode b/c it Helen and Joe's first kiss (Joe tripping on the chairs b/c it was such a hot kiss)

Sports and Liesure- Lowell's answer to all the trivial pursuit questions being Anne Margarett and driving Roy crazy.

Airport 90, Love Is Like Pulling Teeth, My Brother's Back And There's Gonna Be Trouble, Murder She Roast(LOL, Fay with that leg of lamb), Duet for Plane and Chello (that famous fight with Helen and Joe and her sad decision to leave him and Nantucket), Taming of the Shrew, Ladies Who Lunch (the meat slapping fight and the steamy kiss that followed)

Try to Remember the Night He Dismembered (Lowell eating the mushrooms and who could forget "Once when I was out of underwear"), This Old House (love the sentimental moments and Lowell cutting the hole and dropping it), Goodbye Old Friend (Helen was so funny, "if you didn't want me to go to sleep, why did you give me these pillow" as she picks up the marshmellows and Brian commenting that S'mores were S'stupids)

Black Eye Affair(poor Helen, everything that could have gone wrong did), Joe Blows (my favorite line "let me put this through our scratch resistance machine" and he throws the briefcase through the glass of the office door, great acting by Tim)

Of course, A Decent Proposal and Whose Wife is it Anyway. The Big Wedding(the highpoint of the Helen and Joe relationship)

Is that a 10 Foot Sandwich or are you just glad to see me, Nuptials Off (Lowel swatting at the bats and it was one of Helen's best comedic performance), Deathe Become Him ("get in the box Joe"), The Person Formerly Known As Lowell, So Long Frank Loyd Wright ("don't tell me I fell in love with a man who wants to live in a seven?") The Lady Vanishes (Antonio was so funny), The Gift of Life, and so many more.

Of Course, Final Approach, a wonderful conclusion to an excellent show. I like how everything turned out. Joe was willing to sacrafice his dream and life for Helen's dream and Brian also who has grown over the years put his dream on hold to allow his brother to keep his dream of owning Sandpiper. The way they ended the show, it makes you feel that whole gang is still there till this day announcing flights, flying that airplane, and maning that lunch counter. It was a simple life but a meaningful one.

Oh my, I said too much. What can I say, I love this show

I just saw Joe Blows, Part Two again. Man that Brian is hilarious when he and Joe are talking in the plane and Brian is dressed in a clown suit. The seriousness of Brian's talking combined with the hilarity of the clown suit made for perfect irony.

You guys have brought up good memories of favorite episodes.

Lowell leaving was good, but sad. I thought then and still think to this day that Lowell's leaving the show was the huge. I love Wings to death, but Wings pre and post Lowell are kind of like two different shows. When he says "we're not leaving until 1300 hours, so I figure I've got a long time" when in fact they were leaving at one pm, about two minutes away. Hey, can't blame Church for leaving and trying out "Ned and Stacy", but hindsight being 20/20, he probably should have stayed.

Helen was hilarious when she was drunk at the cabin when Brian and Alex were trying to get away for a romantic weekend.

"What the cabbie saw" was freaking hilarious too. When Lowell says "My GOD man, you've led them right to us" I laughed so darn hard!

The "Good Cop Bad Cop" scene at the Club Car was funny. Antonio walking up to the lady that he thinks Lowell has insulted is hilarious. Remember the look on Lowell's face when she actually liked the line he used? Poor Antonio. Classic.

"Burnin down the house". Wow. Moving episode. Daly played it great in this one. Pure disgust at the antics of his brother. Very believable.

You're right, it was in a way a different show post Lowell, but I don't think it was the fact that he left (I love Lowell just as much as the next person) but he wasn't one of the main characters like Joe, Brian, and Helen. I think it was sort of a different show b/c Joe and Helen got married so the writers had to come up with different stoylines. I guess the premise of the show had changed a little. The early years it was about the love between Joe/Brian/Helen and their interactions with the rest of the cast. But I don't think that they made a mistake marring Joe and Helen. I thought it felt right and to me the show was still funny but yes, the peak of the show was them getting together and after they did that romantic tension was gone. That's why we see that in most shows, the main characters don't get together until towards the end b/c they need it too hook us and keep us interested.

What is your all-time favorite episode of Wings and why?

Really hard to pick with so many I like but since you asked heres mine:

Plane 9 From Outerspace from the 2nd season. I loved Brian in this one, thought this was one of his best episodes and I really liked all the "crazy" people that showed up to talk to him about his "experience".

And if I may be so bold I have another that is a favorite that ill call 1a haha. Its also from the 2nd season:

Murder She Roast. I thought this was hilarious. Another one where Brian was funny as hell. The dinner table scene with all of them was classic!

Just Call Me Angel, it's funny because it hooks you in the moment the guy says Brian was the hangover outside his room at his Vegas retreat and "we're gonna die"
