View Full Version : Coming to the Hallmark Channel, Jan. 23, 2006!
Pavan 01-07-2006, 04:00 AM I'm still not home from vacation, but I am glad to report that Family Ties will come to Hallmark starting Mon. Jan. 23, airing weekdays 4 and 4:30 p.m. This is wonderful news and more info will be available on our news blog (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog) from Todd who is filling in for me until I come back on the 10th.
rjb182 01-07-2006, 12:06 PM Ooh, good news! I've missed this show! :)
Scoobiedoo30 01-07-2006, 01:24 PM That is very Good News that Family Ties will be coming on
The Hallmark Channel weekday's at 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm.
Classicshowsgurl15 01-07-2006, 08:30 PM I am so Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this show. I will be sure to watch it.
80sTrivia 01-07-2006, 08:45 PM This is fantastic news... it's about time Family Ties made its triumphant return, and the Hallmark Channel is the perfect place for it! :)
PrettyinPink55 01-07-2006, 08:52 PM AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
KristinHerreraFan 01-07-2006, 08:59 PM This is good news, but I must warn you not to get your hopes up, Hallmark treated Facts of Life like crap three years ago, I just hope it doesn't happen to Family Ties, eventhough they treated FOL bad :( I would still like to see it back, I have every episode of the facts of life taped from the hallmark channel and nick at nite. I'll be sure to tape some of the Family Ties episodes too :)
PrettyinPink55 01-07-2006, 09:01 PM This is good news, but I must warn you not to get your hopes up, Hallmark treated Facts of Life like crap three years ago, I just hope it doesn't happen to Family Ties, eventhough they treated FOL bad :( I would still like to see it back, I have every episode of the facts of life taped from the hallmark channel and nick at nite. That's what I'm worried about too.
It's been years since I've seen Family Ties, so I am really excited.
Both shows deserve the royal treatment!
Classicshowsgurl15 01-08-2006, 04:08 AM So do I. I am still going to see it anyway.
PrettyinPink55 01-08-2006, 04:10 AM Here Here!!!
Buffyboy323 01-08-2006, 04:21 AM Is it going to be on from 3-4..or from 4-5???
Pavan 01-08-2006, 06:16 AM Weekdays 4 and 4:30 p.m. Make sure people watch it. It did terrible on TBS, NAN/TVL. It never did well on cable, so Hallmark is taking a gamble.
Jonathan 01-08-2006, 08:54 AM Great, I plan to check it out.
Classicshowsgurl15 01-08-2006, 05:42 PM I was just wondering when it will put on Hallmarkchannel.com that it will be on. Because I went there yesterday and it isn't listed yet.
musicradio77 01-08-2006, 09:54 PM I remember the last time I saw "Family Ties" was on TV Land. It did terribly, so it is coming in a few weeks. Thank you Hallmark Channel. I should give it a thumbs up! I hope I'm looking forward to see it again.
Heart Shaped Box 01-08-2006, 10:43 PM Wow..I can't even remember last time I saw Family Ties. I can't believe it did bad on NAN/TVLAND. This show is classic, and I'm soo glad that Hallmark picked it up. Hopefully we'll have it on DVD soon..
Classicshowsgurl15 01-08-2006, 11:38 PM I know. I hope that it comes out on dvd soon too.
PrettyinPink55 01-09-2006, 01:51 AM I love your avatar John R Lover!
An 80s Guy 01-09-2006, 07:34 PM PAV is any other shows gonna be coming to dvd besides Benson,Miami Vice and The A-teams coming to TV Land
theshark8777 01-09-2006, 08:39 PM Yeah I will feel better when I actually see it on the schedule. If you go to the Hallmarkchannel website, on January 23 at 4:00 it says Little house on the prairie is on.
Heart Shaped Box 01-09-2006, 08:56 PM I love your avatar John R Lover!
Thanks! Made it myself, teehee.
But yeah, I'm hoping they will have it on the schedule, but I trust Pav and TJ, so it should be on there.
An 80s Guy 01-09-2006, 10:07 PM yeah what is going on Pav where did you get this info from
theshark8777 01-09-2006, 10:10 PM Pav has his sources, so I believe him. It's just we've been let down before. Like the DVDs that were coming in spring 05.
spunkygirl 01-09-2006, 10:27 PM That's great :woohoo:
I get FT on GTN here in my area, I think it's uncut not sure, so it'll be great to have it on another channel and to be able to watch it sooner :D

I don't think that was first reported by Pavan. TVShowsonDVD.com first reported that in September 2004... Obviously, his information is only as good as what the sources provide.. but let me say that I've seen the XLS file of the revised Hallmark Channel schedule, and it is definitely listed.
McFly121 01-10-2006, 02:10 AM TV Land dumped Ties about a year ago, January of '05. I think it's kind of a forgotten show now. Some 80s shows like Cosby and Roseanne and (ick) Full House are repeated ad naseum. And though Ties is heads above those shows, for some reason it's rerun steam ran out in the mid 90s. The Keatons are just too tame I guess.
James"Thunder"Early 01-10-2006, 02:58 PM This is great! party:party:party:
TVFactFan 01-10-2006, 04:11 PM Well if this is true that would be good news since all the shows that are on Hallmark now are mainly DRAMAS
theshark8777 01-10-2006, 06:23 PM Tivo has it listed for Monday 1/23! yay!
An 80s Guy 01-10-2006, 06:51 PM i wish they would bring FOL back
Classicshowsgurl15 01-10-2006, 07:39 PM Well if this is true that would be good news since all the shows that are on Hallmark now are mainly DRAMAS
I know. The only show that I like on there is Little House on the Prairie and MASH. Even though those are dramas. It will be nice to have a sitcom on there for a change. They did have Happy Days on Hallmark Channel a while ago.

Yeah, I'm confused about that too. I see Roseanne, Full House, and Cosby Show every time I turn on the TV, and it's getting really annoying. I think Roseanne, Cosby Show, and Full House are on like 2 or 3 channels! I mean, can't one channel put on another show instead?
Classicshowsgurl15 01-10-2006, 07:44 PM I like The Cosby Show and Full House, but they are on too much. It will be nice to see Family Ties back on TV again.
An 80s Guy 01-11-2006, 09:21 PM yeah me too
Moonlit_Suburb 01-12-2006, 08:29 AM I'm glad to see Family Ties back on cable, but I'm a tad pessimistic about how it will perform...after its quick run on N@N and TVL.
and am I the only one here who doesn't get the Hallmark channel? It is available on digital cable in my area, but I'm still living in the dark ages with analog. :) I plan on possibly upgrading to digital later this year and being able to watch Family Ties is extra incentive for me to do so.
The show may not receive high ratings in syndication these days, but people definitely want it on DVD; it is currently the 12th most-requested unreleased show at tvshowsondvd.com!
Classicshowsgurl15 01-12-2006, 06:36 PM I know it is and I hope that it gets released soon. Any Channel that they put a show on the show is usually edited.
An 80s Guy 01-14-2006, 12:13 PM yeah but i can't wait to see it again for the first time in over a year i can't wait
Classicshowsgurl15 01-14-2006, 05:40 PM I know it will be great!
An 80s Guy 01-14-2006, 06:17 PM how do you get a FT avatar like that
SherryLH 01-14-2006, 07:32 PM I'm so happy its coming back!!! I also agree about Cosby, RoseAnne, Full House and The Fresh Prince also being on way to much. Don't get me wrong I like these shows but I want to see other shows as well like Family Ties and Growing Pains.
Classicshowsgurl15 01-14-2006, 08:07 PM how do you get a FT avatar like that
You can go to my website www.jennifersfamilytiessite.piczo.com
That is where Jen1978 got her picture from.
Classicshowsgurl15 01-14-2006, 10:14 PM Your Welcome:)
An 80s Guy 01-15-2006, 11:41 AM but there is not a section for avatars how do you get it to be a avatar
Classicshowsgurl15 01-15-2006, 07:09 PM On my wesbite, you go to pictures and you pic the picture that you want for your avatar. You right click and save it to your computer and then you go to your settings on Sitcoms Online where it says Edit Avatar. you click on browse and you find the picture that you saved and click open and then hit save changes and you should have an avatar.
An 80s Guy 01-16-2006, 12:24 AM OKAY I'VE GOT AN AVATAR
Classicshowsgurl15 01-16-2006, 01:47 AM I LOVE THAT PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) You picked a great one.
An 80s Guy 01-16-2006, 02:32 PM thanks
Classicshowsgurl15 01-18-2006, 01:52 AM So will they still show them Pacific time too or not. Is it Eastern and Pacific? I hope it is because I want to see it.
Classicshowsgurl15 01-18-2006, 06:13 PM I think it is 4&4:30 Eastern and Pacific. I went to our local tv listings and it says that it is 4 and 4:30 for Pacific too.
Classicshowsgurl15 01-18-2006, 09:10 PM They have Family Ties listed for 4 and 4:30pm on Hallmark Channel.com under Pacific and Eastern.
An 80s Guy 01-26-2006, 10:44 PM i can't set my VCR to a certain time
Mrgman 01-29-2006, 12:16 PM I haven't seen Family ties since it left NAN and maybe 1 or 2 episodes on TVLAND when did it leave anyway
Classicshowsgurl15 02-01-2006, 04:08 PM On March 13th, it's The Real Thing Part 1&2. I want to see that so bad and I can now!
theshark8777 02-01-2006, 05:26 PM Feb. 28: 4 Rms Ocn Vu
Classic episode, one of my favorites.
Classicshowsgurl15 02-01-2006, 09:05 PM Is the site already listing what epiosdes are going to air in March? That's cool.
Yeah. You go to the February Calendar and then it says Next and you click on that and you can see what is on in March.
Classicshowsgurl15 02-03-2006, 03:14 AM Your Welcome.:)
Pavan 02-09-2006, 10:54 PM Family Ties will be gone from The Hallmark Channel starting on Monday. I'm so sorry to report this news, but I have just gotten word from Hallmark themselves. Just posted the story on our news blog right here on Sitcoms Online:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2006/02/family-ties-gone-from-hallmark-channel.html
Enjoy the last two airings tomorrow.
An 80s Guy 02-09-2006, 10:58 PM no this can't be happpening most people whom watch this show are eiather at school or work i'm so angry:mad:
Classicshowsgurl15 02-09-2006, 11:50 PM This is worst thing that I have heard. Now I have to wait for the dvd's to come out just to see these episodes. This is so stupid. Is it going to be put on another channel? I think I am going to cry.:(
Classicshowsgurl15 02-09-2006, 11:56 PM Little House was already on at 4 before Family Ties came on there. It is on 3 times a day on Hallmark. They can keep Family Ties on there. Why do they have to go by ratings. There are like no sitcoms on there. I was so happy that it was on tv and now they are taking it off. They jerks.
Brad Russ 02-10-2006, 05:00 AM Family Ties will be gone from The Hallmark Channel starting on Monday. I'm so sorry to report this news, but I have just gotten word from Hallmark themselves. Just posted the story on our news blog right here on Sitcoms Online:

That kind of sucks. I just heard about it being on Hallmark for the first time today, and was looking forward to taping all the episodes over again. The ones I originally taped off N@N have been viewed so many times, that they're wearing out. Oh well, better to have episodes of crappy quality, then to have none at all. Anyway, this is terrible news for all the Family Ties fans out there. :(
theshark8777 02-10-2006, 07:32 AM Wow they gave it 3 weeks... They didn't even get to the good seaons yet, 3 and 4. Barely got out of the first season. What a shame.
KristinHerreraFan 02-10-2006, 05:58 PM Screw Hallmark, I hate it so freakin' much. I KNEW this would happen! The same thing happened to The Facts of Life three years ago. Hallmark is abosolutely the worst network for airing sitcoms! NO PROMOS, NO MARATHONS, THEY BUTCHER THEIR SHOWS, THEY PULL THE PLUG SOOO QUICKLY, SCREW HALLMARK!!!!
Harper49 02-10-2006, 05:58 PM Howbout The N... It'll be a good place for FT. FT 1st started on TBS, then onto N@N and TV Land, and now last seen on Hallmark Channel. If they bring FT to The N, I want them to drop Daria.
An 80s Guy 02-10-2006, 06:19 PM Howbout The N... It'll be a good place for FT. FT 1st started on TBS, then onto N@N and TV Land, and now last seen on Hallmark Channel. If they bring FT to The N, I want them to drop Daria.
Harper i'm sorry but FT isn't a teen show and almost everyone doubts it will be on there
Harper49 02-10-2006, 06:22 PM I'll bet you're jokin' liptoin.
PrettyinPink55 02-10-2006, 06:22 PM Are you kidding me???? I was REALLY happy they finally had it on after all these years! :( :(
An 80s Guy 02-10-2006, 06:37 PM I'll bet you're jokin' liptoin.
no i'm not joking
James"Thunder"Early 02-10-2006, 07:00 PM What a waste, I was looking forward to taping all the episodes
An 80s Guy 02-10-2006, 08:12 PM so was I but don't ever count on Hallmark for a whole series for a sitcom
Classicshowsgurl15 02-11-2006, 04:11 AM If they did put it on The N I wouldn't be able to see it because I don't get that channel. I just wish they would give it more of a chance. I wrote to Hallmark and complained and I think if you want it to stay on you guys should write to them too. Please write before monday if you plan to write to them.
spunkygirl 02-11-2006, 03:48 PM Wow that sucks :(
Anyone who lives in Central Ohio, Family Ties airs on GTN, just a heads up :)
PrettyinPink55 02-11-2006, 08:12 PM They didn't even give it a chance!!
An 80s Guy 02-11-2006, 08:30 PM I know this isn't fair
SherryLH 02-13-2006, 05:39 PM Well this sucks  I was so happy to finally see FT on T.V. again and now its off?! It hasn't been on for even a month yet!!! :(
Classicshowsgurl15 02-13-2006, 05:48 PM I no it hasn't. I am just waiting until it comes out on dvd now.
An 80s Guy 02-19-2006, 11:01 AM I no it hasn't. I am just waiting until it comes out on dvd now.
so am I
Scoobiedoo30 02-20-2006, 01:30 PM I am sad that The Hallmark Channel Drooped Family Ties from
there Schedule but I think that Ties Will Returne to
The Hallmark Channel.
Classicshowsgurl15 02-20-2006, 10:59 PM I don't know if it will or not because I wrote them an email and told them how I felt about it and I don't think they are going to put it back on. We will just have to wait until it comes out on dvd. That is what I am going to do.
Classicshowsgurl15 02-21-2006, 07:58 PM I know. It is alot. It is on enough. I mean I like Little House on the Prairie, but once or twice is enough. Family Ties deserved some credit.
An 80s Guy 02-22-2006, 03:08 PM What is Hallmark's email adress
Scoobiedoo30 02-22-2006, 10:35 PM The E-mail Address for The Hallmark Channel is Viewers@hallmarkchannel.com
An 80s Guy 02-23-2006, 10:21 PM The E-mail Address for The Hallmark Channel is Viewers@hallmarkchannel.com
lets all email them about FT and FOL I emailed saying "I swear to God If YouTake Off Family Ties I'll never watch Hallmark Channel again" and another thing I said "Hallmark sucks"okay guys flood their email and eventually or hopefully they'll put it back on
BrownEyedGirl523 02-23-2006, 11:34 PM lets all email them about FT and FOL I emailed saying "I swear to God If YouTake Off Family Ties I'll never watch Hallmark Channel again" and another thing I said "Hallmark sucks"okay guys flood their email and eventually or hopefully they'll put it back on
I don't think a message in that tone and language will even be read. They likely will only pay attention to messages that are more restrained and dignified.
An 80s Guy 02-24-2006, 10:39 AM I don't think a message in that tone and language will even be read. They likely will only pay attention to messages that are more restrained and dignified.
the title of the message is just simpley Family Ties it doesn't say anything bad in the title so they'll at least read it
musicradio77 03-25-2006, 02:50 PM Stinks for Hallmark Channel. I didn't watch the show since it first came on a few weeks ago. "Family Ties" is still one of my favorites.
Scoobiedoo30 04-02-2006, 10:05 AM I hope that The Hallmark Channel Gives Family Times another Chance and let it comes back to There Schedule.
Classicshowsgurl15 04-06-2006, 12:10 AM I don't think that they will. I think that Family Ties would do better on ABC Family because there are more sitcoms on ABC Family. The Hogan Family is on there why can't they put Family Ties on there.
How much longer does Hallmark have the rights?
Classicshowsgurl15 05-02-2006, 08:13 PM I don't know if they still do because it is not being shown on there anymore. They took it off on February 10th.
snookie 05-08-2006, 08:46 AM Hello, I'm a new member. I also get the feeling that I'm the only English one on here. But never mind.
I have been a Michael J Fox fan for many years now, but missed Family Ties when it was shown on Channel 4 in the UK. It was later shown several times a day apparently on Sky One when satellite tv first came to the UK about 15 years ago. Of course at the time we didn't get Sky tv. Later I found a kind person who recorded a few tapefuls of episodes for me, so I learned for myself what a great show it is. Later another kind soul recorded the remianing episodes for me on VHS, but the quality was so bad that most of the episodes had blurred shimmering characters moving across the screen.
A couple of days ago I found one of the old tapes and watched some episodes again (from the first series) and remembered what a good series it was.
These days we have satallite tv, but as you people complain, Family Ties is nowhere to be seen, although other old comedy shows are shown repeatedly. This is really annoying. When I saw the title of this post, I got all excited because we get Hallmark as part of our tv package. But then got all disappointed again. Why do these tv companies think they can dictate what programmes we should be watching and then take them off again. At the end of last week I sent an email to Paramount comedy channel to ask ever so nicely if there are any plans to show Family Ties. If i get any sort of reply I'll let you know.
