I read a book by them recently called Raising Hell: The Ruin, Redemption and Reign of Run DMC and Jam Master Jay. It was written by Ronin Ro. It's a good book. Run DMC were somethin else especially Run. Run was very competitive in the early days and him and LL Cool J used to have some serious mc battles. Kurtis Blow used to be jealous of Run DMC. Run DMC used to diss Kurtis's albums saying they were wack and soft LOL. Kurtis even tried to make Run DMC look bad to the media saying that their music caused violence amongst the black youth. Run DMC were against making rap music mixed with rock and roll music. They didn't wanna do Walk This Way song at all. They felt that Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin were trying to ruin them by making them do that song. Rick told them to go home and memorize the lyrics to Aerosmith's song. They were so mad because they didn't wanna memorize the lyrics. DMC said Aerosmith's song sounded like hillbilly music LOL. DMC used to drink 40 ounces of beer a lot. He would drink them for breakfast LOL. One time he drank so much beer, his side started hurting him and he had to see a doctor to see what was wrong. The doctor asked him does he drink beer a lot and DMC said yes. So the doctor said that's your problem. DMC gave up drinking beer and he's been sober ever since. DMC also lost his voice near the end of Run DMC's career when they were workin on their last album Crown Royal. Run and Jam Master Jay didn't ask for DMC's input on any of the songs on Crown Royal album. A lot of people felt that Run and Jam Master Jay were being rude to DMC by not asking him for his opinion about the album being done without him. Run DMC also had a long drawn out battle with their record company Profile. They were trying to get off of Profile for so long and sign with Def Jam but it never happened. I read some funny stuff about behind the scenes of Krush Groove movie. Rick Rubin was trying to tell director Michael Schultz how to film certain scenes LOL. During one scene, Rick said no that's not how it's done. Michael took him to the side and said i'm the director and don't ever do that again hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I read that Sheila E didn't hang with the cast of the movie and LL Cool J said that Prince was on the set of the movie. LL said he didn't like Prince's attitude because Prince acted like the movie should've been about Sheila E hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
