Okay, this is irking me soooooo much....

I am annoyed that I am unable to get my new VCR to record because my new TV requires me to hit "input 1" or "input 2" just to view my VHS tapes and DVDs. So then I get that blue screen until I hit "play."

Sooo...

My question: If a TV has input channels that, then how on earth can I set it where I can record and set my VCR to record through its timer?

This is bugging me... All week long I've been trying to set my VCR to record the newly-syndicated "8 Simple Rules" on the WB, but it won't record! GRRRRR....

Anyone who have these newer TVs and VCRs have any idea?

Have you tried setting the VCR timer to the specific channel you want it to record(not Input 1)? Like Channel 2 or whatever... try it while your home and see if it works.

What I have done so far is set the timer to record, change the channel to the "video 2" input (where i can see my VHS tapes played), and then turn the TV off (since I was at work for 10 hours). But when I came back, I found the tape had not budged. It was still at the beginning of the tape (it's a new tape). On the first day, I just thought I accidentally had it for AM instead of PM. It wasn't the case, as the same thing happened on Tuesday and Wednesday. Gosh, it's annoying... The manuals are NO help either... :crying:

Leave the TV on the channel you want it to record(Channel 2 or whatever). Video 2 is not the way you watch TV. It's the way you watch tapes in your case, but not the way you record.
