View Full Version : Dancing With the Stars returns with big numbers
Brent88 01-06-2006, 01:51 PM Very very impressive...
"Dancing with the Stars" won the 8 p.m. hour for ABC with an 11.2/18, on par with its average last summer. A "CSI" rerun put CBS in second with a 9.7/15. "Will & Grace," 5.7/9, and the premiere of "Four Kings," 5.8/9, were third for NBC. FOX went with the movie "The Hot Chick" to finish fourth. A "Smallville" rerun posted a 1.9/3 for The WB, good enough to beat repeats of "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Love, Inc." on UPN.
A new "CSI," 16.8/25, moved CBS into the lead at 9 p.m. The second hour of "Dancing with the Stars" ticked up to 11.6/17. NBC stayed in third with "Earl," 7.0/10, and "The Office," 5.5/8 -- "Earl" was down some from its season average, "The Office" up a bit. FOX's movie concluded with a 3.2/5. The WB aired a "Beauty and the Geek" repeat, while UPN went with "Eve" and "Cuts."
Ireneparalegal 01-06-2006, 02:19 PM I love this show. Master P probably won't last long. He is too "rigid" and he didn't have enough time to practice since he was a replacement at the last minute.
Pavan 01-07-2006, 03:30 AM I'm still not home from vacation yet (I have checked the boards two other times the last 2 weeks), but I just had to reply to this. Many people thought it would sink here, but I didn't. The S2 premiere even impressed me with its numbers, I was expecting a solid 13-15 million, but well over 17 million is very impressive. Poor NBC is now 3rd on Thursdays--how bad can it get for them? Reminder best new sitcom Crumbs premieres next Thurs at 9:30pm ET/PT.

The sad thing for NBC is... The Apprentice did better than Earl/The Office did.
I'm really interested to see what happens when Survivor, Idol, and The Olympics all are on against DWTS.
80sTrivia 01-07-2006, 09:53 AM I was very surprised Master P. was saved from elimination last night...
Brent88 01-07-2006, 04:09 PM "Ghost Whisperer," 7.4/13, put CBS on top at 8 p.m. ABC was second with "Dancing with the Stars: The Results," 8.6/15, and "Hope & Faith," 5.5/9. The premiere of "Most Outrageous Moments" pulled down a 5.1/8 for NBC. "Friday Night Smackdown!" came in fourth for UPN, ahead of FOX's "Bernie Mac Show," 2.6/4, and "Malcolm in the Middle," 2.3/4. The WB went with a "Beauty and the Geek" repeat.
Brent88 01-13-2006, 03:06 PM ABC started off on top with the 11.1/17 for a new "Dancing With the Stars." CBS was second with a repeat of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," which edged out the 6.3/10 averaged by "Will & Grace" and "Four Kings" on NBC. FOX's two episodes of "That '70s Show" finished fourth, bettering the 3.2/5 for The WB's "Smallville" and the 2.0/4 averaged by "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Love Inc." on UPN.
CBS grabbed first at 9 p.m. with the 11.6/18 for a second episode of "CSI." ABC was in first at the half-hour point thanks to "Dancing" (12.1/18), but the premiere of "Crumbs" (8.2/12) took a dive. NBC's "My Name Is Earl" and "The Office" averaged a 7.1/11 for third. Few viewers returned for FOX's first new "The OC" (3.4/5) in a while, but The WB saw some enthusiasm for the 3.1/5 premiere of the second installment of "Beauty and the Geek." UPN's "Eve" and "Cuts" were last.
The big question is... what happens in March? Alias at 8pm Thursdays will kill all this momentum. I'm not sure yet whether Crumbs can standalone without DWTS either. It's ratings were EXCELLENT and if they stick next week it's a hit. But what about after that? If Alias fills 8pm(which will be a disaster IMO), what goes at 9?
missjohnR 01-13-2006, 06:42 PM I hope Master P goes tonight. He isn't stepping up his game and doing mush. I bet all of his homeboys and fans are voting to keep him on. I like him but not him dancing.
Pavan 01-13-2006, 07:34 PM I'd be humiliated if I were Master P.

Me too. What in the world was he thinking not wearing dancing shoes? They obviously aren't for good luck. :p
Pavan 01-21-2006, 01:17 PM Master P survived again last night. Len must be pissed lol.
Pavan 01-26-2006, 11:17 AM The final results show has been moved from Friday, Feb. 24 to Sunday, Feb. 26! A special 2 hour AFV will air on Friday, Feb. 24.
I think the finale will air at 8-9pm or 7-9pm on the 26th, not sure yet. Followed by DH and Grey's Anatomy.

Interesting info. Thanks Pav.
Oh and Master P BETTER go tonight... how can he possibly stay with an 8 out of 30? He is a disgrace to the show and to ABC.
Pavan 01-27-2006, 10:44 AM I think he is gone for sure tonight. The next lowest score was a 21, so he really has no chance now.
