Yes they did look a lot alike.

During the first 5 seasons or so, I thought D.J. and Roseanne looked very much alike. As Dan said to Roseanne, he definitely had her face. I still can't understand why they originally cast Sal Barone over Michael. Michael was born to play the role of the young D.J.

I always thought they looked a like,, that was pretty obvious when Dan said "Oh, man you got your mother's stare!"
And when DJ played young Roseanne in the flashback ep.

I thought they looked alot alike.

I also saw a resemblence with Dan/Becky.

Darlene just had Roseanne's attitude.

I seem to remember a scene on a season 2 episode where, after getting a haircut, Roseanne is complaining about it, and she looks in a mirror and says "I look like D.J.!" I saw this scene on DVD, as I think it is deleted from the syndication airings.

yeah Dan would always say to Roseanne that kid's got your face, he looks just like you. And also, when Roseanne got a job at the salon and Dan and the kids were all there, the ladies that worked there said that he looked just like her, and Roseanne said, it's the haircut, lol, and then the young blonde girl that worked there said, I think it's the eyes, you both have very dark eyes.

And I also noticed some resemblance between the original Becky and Dan, I thought I was the only one, lol. I think this was one of those shows that could have the family pass as a real life family.

And also, Dan's (John Goodman's) hair seems to get lighter brown/dirty blonde on and off throughout the show. Roseanne made a remark about Dan being blonde at one time during the show. If anyone was wondering about that, I hope that stood for something, because I always used to wonder about that, lol, how the kids were blonde with two brunnette parents, but it's true, Dan's hair does get really light mostly during the summer. <3. xoxo.

Dan's hair (John Goodman) changed colors throughout the show because he was making films and of course his hair had to change for the role he was working on at the time. John Goodman's hair is naturally a dark blonde color.
