Iam just getting on off of ebay. And was just wondering if you can use a playstation 1 control or would i have to buy a ps2 control. And also i was wondering would i have to buy a new memory card for ps2 or can i use my old one from ps1? Thanks PS This is my first time ive had a ps2.

I've tryed to use a ps1 controler with my PS2 and it doesn't work. you need a PS2 controler.

Also, for the memory card question that you had. You have to go get a memory card for the ps2. You can still use the old memory cards but it only saves for the old games that were for the ps1. Hope this helps.

you cant use a ps1 controller for a ps2 and you can use a ps1 memory card for ps2 but the ps2 game saves need at least 300 kb and a ps1 memory only holds 300 kb so....i would buy a used memory card because theres no damage that can be caused to one...and a used one i bought had GTA: San Andreas 100 percent done on it...so maybe you will find something cool like that

Strange - one of my friends uses the controller from his original PS on his PS2, and it works fine.

analogue ps1 controllers do work with ps2s. or they work on mine anyway. but not sure about the very first ps1 controllers without analogue sticks. they probably wouldnt work

only the newer analog/Dual Shock PS1 controllers will work on the PS2 - at least that is what we have found with our controllers and 2 PS2's

the PS1 memory cards will only work on the PS2 with PS1 games (because they have a much smaller memory chip in them)

the old old PS1 controllers without the analog dont work the ones with the analog as far as i know dont work as well..but if you guys say it does than it might... and ps1 memory cards WORK on ps2 but wont save any ps2 games because ps1 memory cards dont have enough memory as a ps2...so stick to saving ps1 games on a ps1 memory card and ps2 games on a ps2 memory card

I used non analogue PS1 controllers and it worked fine in the past. I don't know about now though, because alot of games use the analogue stick for controls.
