I've seen it twice this week now! The Producers is hilarious and absolutely fantastic-definitely a new fave of mine! It is sooo over the top, a little camp at parts but if you love really broad humour you'll love this film. The musical numbers very astounding- with 'i wanna be a producer' being a real standout. I hope Gary Beach does more movies- he stole the entire film playing flamboyant director Roger DeBris! Can't wait for the DVD already lol! Have any of you seen it yet? What did you think?

I saw it and I have mixed feelings on it. Its way over the top, and at first it bothered me alot but it just kind of grows on you. I thought almost everyone was a miscasted role with the exception of Uma Thurman who did a decent job with a small part and Nathan Lane. The songs went alittle too long sometimes and the editing in the first scene is horrible, it was actually painful to watch. The movie plays exactly like a broadway show, which is kind of like, "well what was the point of the movie then?" Overall though it is charming. I give it a B+ but just barely dispite the extremely annoying flaws of the acting, editing and direction. lol

Lol I thought the first scene with Broderick flipping out was very uncomfortable the first time I saw it but second time I saw it was hilarious! I thought the casting was perfect- especially Beach. I loved that it played like a Broadway show- thus the point of the movie is to allow those who can't get to broadway to see the show.

I really want to see this film! Does Ferrell play a starring role?

Ferrell isn't a starring role-but each scene he's in he steals. He is in 3 musical numbers- Der Guten Tag Hop Clop (sort of a playground game in Nazi Germany), Have you ever heard the German Band (or Haben sie Gehort Das Deutsche Bann? as he sings-the 'butch' Hitler's fave song) and 'Never say Good luck on Opening Night'. He's also accompanied often by a flock of pidgeons!
