At my job today it was said we could dress down but it's still a normal work day and we are expected to still work like we normally do. My point is if it's not a relaxed day what's the point of me dressing in a relaxed way? I should just have my normal shirt and tie on if I'm going to do work.

maybe you should wear one of those ties that looks like a fish just to appease them... they probably want to know that you are capable of being fun and light-hearted about stuff.

Everyday is dress down day for me. If you feel more comfortable in casual clothes, you are better off.

Yeah...some people might be more productive in comfier clothes. Being choked by a tie everyday might wear on a guy. But if you're no more or less productive depending on what you wear, wear a shirt and tie.
