View Full Version : Does anyone here have a recurring dream? What do YOU think it means?
Ireneparalegal 12-28-2005, 08:02 PM I am constantly dreaming that I am back in high school and I can't remember my classes. I try to get to the office and ask for my schedule so I know what classes I have and when, but I am never able to get anyone to help me. I am wandering the school grounds soooo lost.
I think it's the part of me that regrets not giving 200 percent of myself to my studies. I always wish I could do high school over again just to get better grades than two A's and the rest B's and C's.
I also tend to dream at least once a month that I am being shot or stabbed. a violent death of some sort. This one scares me because it's as if I am being told that either I am going to die young or I am not going to die "peacefully".
My third dream that I have constantly also is SNAKES!!!!! I dream they are in my house, in my bed, in my car, anywhere and everywhere and that I am trying to get away from them. I am deathly afraid of snakes.
Number 9 Dream 12-28-2005, 08:11 PM Well, my belief is that we dream about things that are plaguing our subconscious mind. You've been worrying about your past mistakes in high school lately, which is most likely why you've been having these dreams. It's very interesting to think about!
I love having reoccuring dreams, by the way :D It's kind of like a continuing play in my mind-- wonderful!
Brent88 12-28-2005, 08:41 PM I used to dream years ago that I was falling... I don't know from what and I don't remember landing, I just remember it was a LONG way down.
Chelsea 12-28-2005, 09:12 PM There's a recurring part of dream - a common location. It's a diner that at the very least I've yet to ever visit in real life, but it shows up amazingly commonly in my dreams, and I can enter it from the strangest locations in dreams....I KNOW that diner represents something, but beats me as to what.
EmoJoe 12-28-2005, 09:13 PM No, but last night I had a dream that I forgot my gym clothes so my gym teacher made me take Gym in a suit :)

^^!!!!! My recurring dream was a lot like that! I was in college, but I either didn't know my schedule, showed up a week late, never went to my classes, or was flunking out because I never went. I kept telling myself to go drop the class, but I never did. It may have been regret for skipping so much while I was going thru my anxiety troubles.
But once I stopped talking to that jerk I met in college...the dreams stopped. They were all his fault!

Mijada 12-29-2005, 12:02 PM I too have re-occurring dreams about being back in HS, getting lost, not remembering my classes etc. I think Retrogirl is right on the money with her theory. I have a lot of regrets about HS. I wish I would have gone out of my way more to make friends and gotten involved more in school activities.
I also used to have a lot of dreams that someone was standing over my bed watching me or that someone was walking around in my house while I was asleep.
dawsongirl 12-29-2005, 03:22 PM I wish I would have gone out of my way more to make friends and gotten involved more in school activities.
My dad tells me that a lot. In fact, he told me again today. He wishes I would have gone more out of my way to be friendly with everyone and always go out and do things. I was shy, dad, deal with it. I think he regrets not doing all that himself, so he projects it onto me. Yeah, well, I went to school with a bunch of freaks and snobs. I don't even care what most of them are doing nowadays, so it doesn't matter. I just get irritated when he says things like, "Too bad you didn't..." or "You should have..."
Courtnee 12-29-2005, 03:26 PM I keep having this dream where I finally don't have to live with my parents anymore and i live with my friend and then i wake up not knowing where i am...
Tuesday Weld 12-29-2005, 04:48 PM I keep dreaming that I'm back at school and about this one guy in particular - he was the first guy I really had a crush on. He's in my dreams every night, somehow. I guess it just means that he left such a great impression on me. :D

Wow he must have!:D
seems alot of people have "going back to school" as their most recurring dream. I guess alot of us wish we could have done things differently in school.

Yeah...I guess screwing something up in HS isn't as bad as we all think...because everyone does it.
