The Jeffersons is one of my Top 10 favorite sitcoms of all time. I strongly hate Good Times so much that I wish TVLand would replace it with The Jeffersons, I could not get interested in Three's Company, and I never watched The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Pat Michael cole 11-07-2015, 06:56 PM Threes Company Good Time Married With Children TVFactFan 11-07-2015, 07:13 PM Threes Company Good Time Married With Children Is your life that pathetic that you have to respond to a 10 year old thread? Just start a new one OH Nuts! 11-07-2015, 08:04 PM I love The Jeffersons too! But I basically dislike Good Times and can take or leave the other three. tvfan25 11-07-2015, 10:21 PM I love all of them! scrapple 11-07-2015, 10:33 PM To be honest, all of them are pretty juvenile. The acting on Three's Company (john Ritter aside) and Good Times was atrocious, Married With Children was just vulgar, Fresh Prince was just okay. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed The Jeffersons. Even though the plots were silly, the show was perfectly cast with great chemistry, and actors who had comic timing down to a science. icecream 11-10-2015, 01:10 PM None of them are particular favorites but I especially hate Married with Children, that show is trash. The best of the list is Three's Company, I like it more than I did a few years ago. Adamantium 11-14-2015, 02:08 PM I don't dislike any of these five shows. However, I'm not a big "Jeffersons" fan, although I bought the complete series box set, so I'm also not a hater. It's just a show I haven't seen too much of in my life. "Goods Times" is an enjoyable show to watch now and then (I own all six seasons on DVD) although I personally find it to be cringe worthy at times. "Fresh Prince" I like. I was annoyed by it when Nick at Nite used to air it all the time. I thought it was overkill. But I still own the whole series on DVD and think it's a good show. "Three's Company" is a show I love. I don't watch it much these days but I'm still a fan. "Married...with Children" is my favorite show on this list. It's hysterical. Al Bundy is a TV legend. You know in high school, he scored four touchdowns in one game. ;) Mace Dolex 11-14-2015, 09:07 PM 5.Fresh prince 4.Married with Children 3.Good Times 2.Three's Company 1.JEFFERSONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fresh Prince sucks. 4. Married...with Children sucks. 3. Good Times is just OK. 2. Three's Company was great early, OK in the middle, and sucked late. 1. Jeffersons is so-so. Fresh Prince and The Jeffersons were ok. I still watch The Jeffersons on occasion. Love MWC and Good Times and Three's Company, I never got into. Dianne3 03-23-2016, 04:57 PM 1. The Jeffersons is the best show on the list, but as you know the sad part is that it could of been a lot, lot better. ie. More Lionel, Jenny & more mention of Mother Jefferson dying. 2. Three's Company was enjoyable up to a point. Then every episode seem to be about a misunderstanding. The only character growth was Jack going from cooking student to owning his own restaurant. 3. Good Times was too depressing. Of course, it got worse after killing of John Amos's character. 4. Married with the Children falls in the category that I enjoyed most of the show in its original run. Only towards the end I thought the show was stupid. But now when I see reruns I ask myself "What was I thinking? I hate that show now. 5. When I think of Fresh Prince, I think of overplayed. Everybody Loves Raymond now has taken over as the most overplayed show. TVLegend 06-27-2021, 03:52 PM Bump. GentlemanJim 06-27-2021, 04:10 PM 5.Fresh prince 4.Married with Children 3.Good Times 2.Three's Company 1.JEFFERSONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've always had a strong dislike for Three's Company. The rest I'm pretty "meh" on, except for the first 3 years of MWC. TVLegend 06-27-2021, 04:24 PM The Jeffersons was a good show, overall, and is in fact one of my favorite shows from during that era. I did think things started to become shaky once Mother Jefferson died and Lionel #2 came in and out. The later seasons were alright, but I much prefer the earlier seasons with Mother Jefferson and a more “controversial” George. To me, it’s more fun to watch. Good Times, also, was a good show from the 70s. Like other posters stated, there were a lot of depressing episodes, but all in all, it was pretty good. Now this show was another one that eventually declined over time. Once the fourth season rolled in and the father figure of the show, James was killed off, it really hurt the show and things got even worse when Florida left the show after the fourth season and was replaced by Penny. Let’s just put it this way: I’m NOT a fan of Penny or the way she was brought in. Things got together again by the sixth season once Florida returned but a definite lowlight was the addition of Keith, which I think, hurt the show even more. Three’s Company, to be honest, is a show you mostly watch for comfort and nostalgia. Not really because of the show itself or how funny it was. The first three seasons were GOLDEN, and in fact, it got better by the fourth season, I just wish that didn’t mean The Ropers had to departure. The fifth season was okay, but the whole Chrissy/Cindy situation kinda messed up the show. Things got worse when Terrible Terri got added in Season Six. The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air is okay. Will Smith is hit or miss, Carlton, to be honest, is grating as HELL, I could never tolerate someone as annoying as him in real life without punching his lights out, Hilary, is another one, the dumb one, Ashley’s okay if she has anything to do, everybody knows Janet Hubert is the REAL and ONLY Vivian, Geoffrey was enjoyable, Phil is pretty much the ONLY reason why I like the show. On a scale of one to ten, I’d give TFPOBA a five. Married With Children is a show that you have to watch in it’s prime. The original, ACTUAL, less buffoonish premise of the show was the dysfunctional, controversial, and unusual Bundy Family: Al Bundy was the miserable shoe salesman who absolutely HATES his life and regrets ever marrying his wife and starting a family, but at the same time, has to come to the realization that he is stuck with family for life, Peggy Bundy, who is pretty much, in a nutshell, the lazy one. She’s supposed to be a “mother”, but refuses to get a job to support her family, never cares for her family, never cooks, cleans, and instead, hogs up the TV all day, snacking on bon bons, Kelly Bundy, the one who is boy crazy but naive but despite that, still loves her family very much, and Bud Bundy, the smarter one of the family who has to watch his family every day, horrified and embarrassed. Despite all of their disagreements and spats and dysfunctions, the family in the end, loves each other very much and will not stand for anyone putting down the Bundy Family. Their neighbors: Steve Rhoades, Al’s best friend, and Marcy Bundy, Peggy’s best friend. The whole premise, was tampered with, in the later seasons, Al now has new friends, Andy Rooney, etc., Peggy is pretty much a side character shoe is only their to annoy the HELL out of viewers, Kelly is now completely dumb with no brains whatsoever and is a total slut, and Bud is the pathetic loser who always tries to get women in his bed but miserably fails. Out is poor Steve, who is replaced by that poor excuse of a replacement, “Jefferson D’Arcy” and Marcy D’Arcy is now a total feminist who thrives on messing with Al and wearing men’s clothing. And don’t forget about “NO MA’AM” and “The Jiggly Room”. Just a shame what this show turned into. merlinjones 06-27-2021, 07:47 PM Best show of this lot for me would be The Jeffersons - funny, great cast, especially with Mother Jefferson and Florence added. Lionel #2 and Jenny were boring though. cnnbcbs 06-27-2021, 07:53 PM 5.Fresh prince 4.Married with Children 3.Good Times 2.Three's Company 1.JEFFERSONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Times. Never really watched it and it seems pretty serious/dramatic. Sal 06-27-2021, 10:37 PM The Jeffersons - Most overrated series of all time. George Jefferson was a very funny character. The others weren't. Three's Company - A very funny show but not always because of John Ritter who nevertheless was a comic genius. His co-stars got their share of laughs too and should have received more credit for it. This would have been one of the true all time greats if it wasn't for the controversy regarding Suzanne Somers' departure and all the cast changes that followed. Good Times - A spinoff which spun too far in the wrong direction. This was a good show that was simply ruined by the sheer hamminess and stupidity of Jimmie Walker and his JJ character. Married...With Children - The best show of the group, made possible by the legendary Al Bundy. He reminds me of Archie Bunker, only he was a lot funnier. It's too bad Ed O'Neill couldn't have won an Emmy for this role which he richly deserved instead of that dull "Modern Family". At least he got to be with Sofia Vergara, which must have been God's gift to him for putting up with Peggy for 11 years. Fresh Prince - The worst show on the list and one of the worst ever for many reasons. It tried to copy "The Beverly Hillbillies" and failed badly. Sorry, but there's just no comparison. It introduced hip hop and rap music to Americans and made it acceptable and cool, which is even more true today, unfortunately. Worst of all, it replaced "ALF" on Monday nights which for me is simply unforgivable. Plus it wasn't funny at all, not one bit. This show sucked so badly that everyone involved, especially Will Smith, should be completely ashamed and embarrassed that they were even involved in it. icecream 06-27-2021, 11:40 PM It introduced hip hop and rap music to Americans and made it acceptable and cool, which is even more true today, unfortunately.I can't stand hip hop and rap garbage, disgusting! :yousuck: Bonniegirl 06-27-2021, 11:43 PM Of that list I'd say Married with children was my least favorite ! TVLegend 06-27-2021, 11:52 PM Of that list I'd say Married with children was my least favorite ! It definitely jumped the shark when Steve left and “Jefferson D’Arcy” got added, then there was all that NO MA’AM and Jiggly Room and Feminist Marcy crap. TVLegend 06-27-2021, 11:56 PM The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air needed better supporting characters First of all, Will Smith was NOT strong enough to pull off a show as a lead The Carlton character was an insult to viewers intelligence Hilary was a COMPLETE idiot, too much of that stereotyped on TV Ashley needed storylines instead of being used to advance other characters Geoffrey needed time and material to shine Let’s face it, Uncle Phil WAS the star of the show, he needed to stop having the spotlight taken away from him by Will Wawwie 06-28-2021, 02:02 AM 5.Fresh prince 4.Married with Children 3.Good Times 2.Three's Company 1.JEFFERSONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only one from your list that I dislike is Married With Children. IMO, the show is stupid. I would add to your list: Sanford & Son What's Happening Amen 227 Brady Bunch Hazel Alice Golden Girls Steve Harvey Show The Office Maude One Day At A Time KurtfromPitts 06-30-2021, 11:26 AM Three's Company. It never did a thing for me. Fallon97 07-01-2021, 04:38 PM Married With Children is my least favorite on the list, but I like them all. |
