Should the toilet paper and paper towel rolls go so the paper comes down over the roll or falls down behind it, coming closer to the wall?

Definitely fall down behind it! If I'm in someone else's bathroom, I'll change the roll to the paper falling down behind it. I can't help it, it's just one of those OCD tendencies that I must do.

I always put it over the roll but I guess it really doesn't matter.

I saw this thing on The Rosie O'Donnell Show a few years ago...She had The Gadget Man come on (he was a regular guest on her show) and demonstrate the latest gadgets...One of them was a toilet paper roll holder for in the bathroom. You could turn it over if you wanted the TP to hang over...Or turn it to the other side if you wanted it to hang down. I thought that was pretty cool, heh.

I prefer behind the roll near the wall for paper towels, over the roll for toilet paper.

My husband strongly disagrees with me, but I like it to hang behind the roll.
