Who remembers the episode in which Cesar Romero played Chico's long-lost
(and very rich) father? I used to have that episode on an audio cassette (back
in the pre-home video era of the early 1970s). I thought Romero did a very good
job as Chico's father. Interesting episode.

It is called "Chico's Padre" and was in the middle of the third season. It was a very touching episode. A bit of trivia... it was the next episode to air the week Freddie died, and the network programmers thought that this episode would be too hard on the feelings of the fans, so they went with an episode taped after this one to show instead, "The Boxer". They later aired this episode out of taping sequence. Cesar Romero did a fantastic job. The fans always thought that he might have been asked to do more episodes if Freddie was still around to do them with him.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. But now I do recall that "The Boxer"
was the next episode that I saw after Freddie's untimely death. Yes, it would
have been fun to see Prinze and Romero together again, in another "father-and-
son" reunion show. But it's nice that, in the end, Chico's father admitted that he was proud of the man he had become.

The J.J character on Good Times mentioned-"Ceasar Romero" in one episode. I never saw the actor, what was he known for?

OMG lots of stuff, but probably his best known roll on TV was the Joker on the old Batman series with Adam West.

JJ made a joke, can't remember if it was him being good looking or something like that. Or a spanish name reference and JJ say Ceasar Romero. Florida was making fun of JJ to James and she repeated JJ's reference of Ceasar Romero.

The Episode with Chico's dad was really cool, and seeing Ed being supportive was great too.

I think Cesar Romero would of been a great addition to the cast as a special guest on the show

He played Peter Stavros, he married Angela. I think they killed him off when a plane Chase chartered crashed.
