View Full Version : "Look Back at 2005" Survey
swedeace 12-27-2005, 02:57 AM A friend of mine started an annual tradition around this time of year to fill out a year-end survey filled with thoughts/memories throughout the year. She started it around '97/'98, so I thought I'd carry it on through forums. Remember, some of these questions about "best" or "most" don't mean to go by the media. They are what YOU think. Sooooo.... enjoy!!

1. Name:
Mona
2. Get any new nicknames this year?:
I guess I could kinda count the fact that a friend of mine was joking (or maybe serious?) about calling me "Giggles" this past June. There was no further mention of it, so I can't really count it as a full nickname.
3. Where did you spend New Year's Day 2005 (1 January)?:
I can't remember, but I KNOW I spent it at my mom's apartment. I know I didn't go out anywhere.
3a. Did you meet your goals/New Year's Resolutioions?:
I don't recall making any specific goals. I might have, but I just cannot remember.
3b. What are you doing to welcome in the New Year for 2006?:
At my apartment with my mom and maybe some co-worker friends if they can come.
3c. Do you have any resolutions for 2006? If so, what?:
1. Finish Macroeconomics....
2. Stay in shape. What better motivation than taking a "Step Aerobics" class at my college. This way, I HAVE to attend. And I want to add more fruits/veggies into my diet. I don't eat enough of them.
3. Find a rational alternative to whining, worrying, and obsessing so much.
4. not over-stuffing myself while eating (I have begun doing this since late October since I came back from Antwerp - so thumbs up on that!)
5. Socializing and interacting more with people (I've begun doing this, so I'd like to continue....)
6. Finally get those headaches checked out through a neurosis specialist
4. Overall, how was the year? Describe it in one word:
Like a rollercoaster ride. It had its ups and downs.
4a. How was the winter? (December 2004 – March 2005):
December was nice to spend time with Ely and Luís (visiting Mexican friends); January was horrible because I was in for a shock after my dad was hospitalized with subdural hematoma, so I worred like heck and a co-worker from hell left us in early January!; February was getting difficult for me and my mom caring for my dad; Early March my dad was getting better, so he was able to go back home and care for himself.
4b. How was the spring? (March – June):
Later March was beginning to look up for me as a developed a new crush. :biglove: I actually wanted to add about this new crush to that "Crushes" thread in another forum, but it went down right before I decided to go with it. :( April was a crossover point when I decided to "let go" of someone I considered a friend but was merely all in my head. That same day was also the same day I have approached my crush and had a nice chat with him. May was really the first initial contact of my crush and his interest in developing a friendship with me; June was when I was getting to know more about him.
4c. How was the summer? (June – September):
July was weird because I had sort of a mental fallout towards my sister where I had learned something about her that I hit the roof and was angry, my family vacationed in Laughlin, Nevada; August was weird because some of us at work had to sub at the last minute for SIX weeks for an instructor who broke her ankle. I was soooooo nervous that I actually gave up my sub. I realized I can't and don't want to handle having MY own class to teach, so that was an epiphany of not wanting to go into teaching, afterall.
4d. How was the fall (autumn)? (September – December):
September started off rocky, but ended up being a revelation of expressing and confiding over personal religion concerns to a friend I trust a lot. I also moved into my OWN apartment!! Finally!!; October rocked as I decided to scrimp and save for a last-minute decision to go to NOTP...oh and I also met AOB!! :-D November was overall pretty relaxing, but it was stressful for me for my Macroeconomics class. This point is where I believe I started falling behind; December was not as good because no matter how hard I tried to avert my mind, my depressed feelings re-surfaced. And well, I have three more days, so I can't judge the rest of these days until after, right?
5. Did you make any new friends? If so, who were they? Did you meet anyone romantically? If so, who were they?

Friendships and socializing more.
32. Major accomplishment?:
Actually making it to an AOB concert... FINALLY!!! I so much wanted to attend the "New Star Showcase" NYC show in October 1998, but I couldn't make it. Therefore, I promised myself I WILL make it to an AOB concert and so I did! When there's a will, there's a way....

That I "look good."
41. Some wonderful news I received this year was....:
Oooo.... I really can't think of anything in particular.

43. A new friend/some new friends I made this year....:
See way above.
