I just saw an episode from 1994 and one of the stories was about a 17 year old girl who dissapeared in 1974 and was believed to have been abducted by a biker gang.

What has happened since? Have they found her? Is she dead, or is she alive?

I think you are talking about Amy Billig.
Unfortunately, she hasn't been found, and her mother recently died without having seen her daughter again. :( I believe she wrote a book about her daughters' search, but I'm not quite sure what it is called. I know someone else can probably help you out, but yeah....she was never found. :(

Thanks.

That really freaked me out, how her 9(and her family's) lives were completely ruined for no reason at all. One day everything was fine, and than...she's gone.

Watching it made me wonder how come she never managed to escape. I mean, you have to think she had opportunities.

And watching the story made me feel like the police didn";t really do an awfull lot to try and find her.

There has been a claim that Amy Billig was killed soon after her disappearance, and that her corpse was fed to crocodiles. If this claim is true, then it certainly dashes any hope of finding her. In any case, there has never been any real proof to this story, so Amy is still officially considered a missing person.

Her late mother, Susan Billig, wrote a book about Amy's disappearance in 2001. The title is: Without a Trace: The Disappearance of Amy Billig--A Mother's Search for Justice. I found that title via Amazon.com.

I hadn't heard of that myself until the Amy Billig story was featured in a 1998 episode of the A&E series Investigative Reports. That information is mentioned in Amy Billig's profile at the following link:

This is the case that also involved the creepy US Customs agent who harrassed the mother via telephone for years, right?

Yes. Henry Johnson Blair made harassing phone calls to Susan Billig for many years, until he was identified in 1995. He was tried and convicted of the harassment charges, and was sentenced to two years in jail. He has since been released, and denies having ever met Amy.

I know this sounds sort of odd, but I really hope that Amy died long ago and that her mother has been reunited with her on the other side.

No, that doesn't sound weird.
