Anyone else notice that they edited the VBC movie on the ABC Family Channel?

They are missing the part where everyone is talking before dinner and then walk to the table to eat. From the commercial it goes right to Mike's speech about being a family for 25 years, etc. etc.

It is also missing a piece of when Bobby is racing around the track. The scene in the Fox version starts when Bobby is getting out of his car. -- the footage of him racing around the track is missing.

So far those two thing I noticed when watching the VBC movie this year on ABC Family.

Someone on another board said they left out the scene where Alice is meeting everyone at the airport.

Interesting.... I didn't notice it but I still have the movie on tape.

Unfortunatly, ABC Family is notorious for chopping up shows.
All of the Rankin/Bass animated programs that they showed for their annual "25 Days Of Christmas" were heavily edited.

I'm sure it was probably edited for time (not content). I bet ABC Family shows more commercials than when CBS (was that what network it was on originally?) aired it back in 1988. Even stuff that aired the last few years (like Seinfeld or Friends) have a couple minutes shaved off for more commercials in syndication, and those are only 1/2 an hour...multiply that by 4 and you're probably talking close to 10 minutes.
