View Full Version : Were the Doobie Brothers psychic...
Ireneparalegal 12-23-2005, 12:47 PM When the boys talked to the Doobies after the concert, they told the group they were to meet Al Dunbar at "the soda shop". They didn't say "a soda shop called Rob's place". So how did the Doobies know what place to go to? This is Los Angeles we are talking abt...there is NOT JUST ONE SODA SHOP...
snl 70s show fan 12-23-2005, 06:54 PM i thought about that too and another thing ive been wondering is why if sherly went to the concert why is she back at robs place every body knows that robs didnt stay open that late and just assuming that the concert started at 800 pm it had to be at least an hour and a half concert so it wouldnt be over till at least 930 so you would think that the plae would be closed anyway

Apparently, that's the case in TV Los Angeles!:)
You're looking for logic in an episode where at a rock concert, where music is blaring and everyone's dancing and getting into the music, that everything just stops completely when Rerun drops his tape recorder???
They performed at the high school as returning alumni, so it's apparent that THE DOOBIE BROTHERS HUNG OUT AT ROB'S PLACE BEFORE THEY BECAME FAMOUS!!!:D

Uh, maybe they stayed open late that night anticipating some after-concert business...???
CindyRoxiesLair2006 12-24-2005, 12:26 PM ...in the sense that the Doobies once attended Jefferson HS (just like Raj and gang), and they basically had to have hung out at Rob's Place when they were high-schoolers.
That soda shop in particular seems to be the central place for all Jefferson High students to meet up/hang out with one another!
Well said, Dr. Thong...in your whole explanation. After all, this is LA-style TV we're discussing here...LOL
;) :happyface

Of course, applying logic to any TV show is kind of silly. But it was fun trying to justify the lapse in continuity.:D

We had a thread abt the whole concert/tape thing. We said how did a whole audience of people happen to "quiet" right when the tape dropped? I seen the episode more closely and I noticed when the tape recorder fell, one of the Doobies raised his hand to the audience. The kind of motion one would do when they want the crowd to be "silent". I had never noticed that before. I guess I should post this on that thread, but I wanted to answer your reference to this.

Us repeat threads??? That's um-possible!!
CindyRoxiesLair2006 01-01-2006, 11:36 PM ...then one of the threads should be cancelled/closed, or something.
There's really no need for "duplicate threads" on the same subject of the Doobie Brothers' psychic senses, instincts, etc! I mean, really... LOL
Too funny...
 :happyface

Quite true.
However, the reason I think it happens is because either someone who hasn't read the previous threads starts one, or...
...so much time passes that someone forgets about the previous posts and well, this thread is the result!!

Orrrr, they don't look for the other thread because they can't remember the title of it..u know how sometimes there's a thread, but then the subject turns into something else. I think that's what happened here.
