The kids in the family got toys and plenty of them.

I bought my new niece a growth chart for her room. It's custom-made and engraved with her name.

Most of the adults got gift cards to either Macy's or their favorite restaurant.

I bought the pets of our loved ones each a toy and a bag of treats.

My mother-in-law got her favorite perfume and a Christmas flower arrangement delivered.

I gave my husband a gift certificate to an online coin store. He collects coins. I also subscribed him to two new magazines. American History and The Civil War. He already has World War II and The History Channel magazines delivered.

I gave my aunt a gift card for Stop & Shop.

I bought our new kitten Lily some cool toys.

I always give Hallmark calendars too.

For my sister, I bought her a University of Michigan hoodie (practically impossible to find in TX), and a Fall Out Boy shirt. For my boyfriend, I'm framing a picture of he and I together. My parents didn't want anything this year.

Well, since I don't work I really couldn't buy anything. The only gift I bought was a perfume for my mom.

Not much, we do a gift exchange with the siblings, so I only had to buy one gift for my brother, which was a Simon gift card. Also got a movie for the nieces, and I still gotta get something for my mom - probably a gift certificate to one of the restaurants she goes to. My group of friends don't really get gifts for each other, which is kind of nice to not have to worry about.

I kind of went overboard this year.

I bought everyone in my family an ISU tshirt...even the little kids. So that's 11 tshirts...

My mom got that, 3 other shirts, a box of Sweet and Low (don't ask), some earrings, and an earring holder.

For my dad I got 3000 Miles to Graceland, a Kiss dvd, some shirts, 2 Sudoku books, and a giant crossword puzzle.

I got them both a $50 gift certificate to a fancy restaurant.

For my favorite aunt, I got her 2 shirts and some Bath and Body works stuff.

My grandma who lives with me got a watch and a candle.

My other grandma got some Bath and Body Works stuff.

My grandpa got the book Angels and Demons.

My little cousin got a Hello Kitty coloring book, crayons, and some Hello Kitty hair stuff.

For my secret santa at school, I got a purse, a 20 Questions game, a hat, and a scarf.

And everyone else in my family just got an ISU shirt.

It seems like I forgot stuff....I dont know.

I bought my dad a CD and my mother some socks and a photobox. That's it. I need to get something for my sister, but yeah. She wants me to get her a fake-bake gift certificate but I have no desire to spend 50 dollars so she can go tanning in December. I don't understand that concept.

Lemme see if I can remember everything:

Mom- 2 sweaters, 2 pairs of jeans, about 5 different books, a cookbook, new set of flatware, recipe box, flatware organizer for the kitchen drawer, a box to put tea bags in, a pair of sweatpants...I should go get her Michael Buble's CD...oh, and I wanted to get her the CSI board game too...

Dad- 2 pairs of jeans, an automatic tape measure, a miter saw, a pair of flannel lounge pants, 2 car books (which won't get here in time, thanks a lot amazon.com...jerks), some workbench thing for the garage, a pair of dress gloves (my name drawing gift...yeah, I got my own dad), a dress shirt...

I was trying my hardest to make the gifts even in number, but dad is hard to buy for. He has to have every tool known to man. And I can't afford a Corvette.

Friends- 4 DVDs and some chocolates

Grandma- A Coca-Cola checkers set

Girls at work- Some chocolates and a set of notecards

Guys at work- Hickory Farms gift sets

SS- a squirrel :D (she has it so I can say it)

that's it I think. I've never been one to only buy one gift. I'm a retailers dream come true.

I have really cut back this year on what I will be giving my brother and his family for a few reasons. One being that I'm needing to save money after the robbery in October. I've had to replace things. I'm also still upset with my brother and his family for leaving me out on purpose two months ago when it was my birthday. They sent my sister something, but not me. She and I have the same birthday. I've also been told that they won't be buying me things anymore. Apparently they don't buy my sister'in-law's brother anything so they try to justify it that way. I've been told that "gifts are what parents are for." Of course their "logic" if you will, is very hypicritical considerning they still expect gifts for their birthdays and Christmas from me. Between my sister-in-law and my brother there are five kids. That's a lot to buy for. I spend close to 200 dollars a year on all of them and I don't feel I should keep doing that. I'm not going to penalize the kids though because their parents are being jerks.
So this year for Christmas, instead of buying each of them gifts which adds up to a lot of money, they're getting a group gift and if they don't like it, that's too bad. I care way too much and I realize that's why it hurt me so much in October and other times when I'm the only one who doesn't get a gift. I'm also treated like that when they send out pictures of the kids. I'm the only one who doesn't get pictures and the excuse is always money. The gift I got them this year is wind chimes and the youngest child (17 months) is getting a stuffed teddy bear. I will still get the kids gifts for their birthdays and next year for Christmas. One has a birthday in April, one in May, two in July and I'm not sure when the other birthday is. My brother's birthday is in May and my sister-in-law's is in December. I'll still send them a gift for their birthdays, I'm going to really watch how much I spend though. I don't see why I should continue to spend as much as I have in the past when they don't appreciate it and they hardly ever thank me for it.

Ugh...I wouldn't buy them anything ever again. Gifts should only be for people you like who like you back. People like your brother and his family get coal.

Yeah, and tell my grandma that presents are only for parents to buy. She buys everyone everything.

My mom mentors a girl your age, and she was gonna get her stepmom (whom she also despises) something that had to sit around and gather dust, so that her stepmom would be forced to tell people that Ashley gave her that *insert dust collector here*.
