Trivia note: Jack Albertson made his screen debut in the Christmas classic
"MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET." He played the postal clerk, near the end of the
picture, who re-directs the Santa letters in the dead letter office to Kris Kringle
(Edmund Gwenn), at the courthouse. Thelma Ritter also made her motion picture debut as a Macy's customer, earlier in the picture.

Thanks for letting us know. It's been a long time since I saw that movie.

Interestingly, Jack Albertson is uncredited in that picture; and, although his
character is only onscreen for a minute or so, when you think about it what
he does has a profound effect on the ending of that picture!

Jack Albertson was also in an episode of I Love Lucy in the 5th season when the Ricardos go to Europe, and Lucy gets left behind.

I also saw him on the short-lived Dean Jones TV sit-com ENSIGN O'TOOLE and,
as a reporter, in the Disney film "THE SHAGGY DOG." A fine comedic actor.

I remember when my husband pointed out Jack years ago when we were watching Miracle on 34th street. He was a handsome guy back then. It was a great little part too! I like when he starts to sing as he continues sorting the mail! LOL

I've seen him in Gunsmoke I think & some other shows too. I think I saw him in a Mr Ed ep too. It's neat what actors show up on other shows...

He was in at least two Mr Ed episodes. He was Kay's brother, a music biz exec. He helped to launch Mr. Ed's song "Pretty Lil Filly' :D
