Since Christmas falls on a Sunday this year, what day are you getting off from work? Is anyone getting beat out of a day off this year?

Are the banks, the post office, etc, open on Monday?

Broadcasting is a 24/7 business. With that said, I took Monday, December 26th off. Despite that, I still get a comp day because Christmas does fall on a Sunday.

My mom has to work this Christmas... as she did last year's too. She works at a nursing home and obviously they can't just close on Christmas.

My company shuts down for the week between Christmas and New Year. Tomorrow is my last day to work this year; I'm off from December 23 through January 2. With pay! :D

Usually, when a holiday falls on a Sunday the government/bank organizations take the following Monday off as the holiday. Also, the Tournament of Roses Parade is never held on a Sunday; it will be seen on January 2nd.

Janice: Christmas will be "observed" on Monday(much like when Veterans' Day falls on a Sunday), so yes, the banks, post offices, and most of the government will be closed Monday.

The same thing will happen on January 2nd for New Year's Day:

I've been off of work since the 16th of December up through the 1st of January 2006. I go back on the 2nd. I have 17 days of paid vacation, so I'm happy. :D

Our clinic is closed on Monday. However, I never work on Mondays anyway, so I got screwed. pissed:

I have Saturday and Sunday off but the four days after that (Mon-Thurs) I have to go back. :( Oh well, as long as I have the actual holiday off, I'm fine.

No, I don't get off on Monday. We're already closed on Saturday and we're normally open on Saturdays, so we definitely couldn't close on Monday. 3 days in a row to be closed for a vet is too long, especially around the Holidays! I normally work on Mondays so yes I'm working!
