When the parents decided to call home from the restaurant, they both each tried more than once, only to get a busy signal because Jan was gabbing with her friend Gloria. Did Mike still have the other free line in his den, as we saw in "Sorry, Right Number" where they temporarily had that pay phone? If so, why didn't that occur to them?

Well, the kids had firm orders not to use Mike's phone, so I guess Mike and Carol didn't call that number because they knew no one would answer it. ;-)

They probably couldn't remember the number...after all, Mike just took calls on his line, he never called it himself (I can just see them as they're fumbling around for a dime... 'dang, what IS that number??? I've never called it before... shoot, I'll just try our regular number again... aaaarrrrggghh... busy! Shoot, one of the kids is probably yacking, gotta be Marcia!) :)
