i was so fixated with kotter in 1975 i tried everything to look like vinny barbarino. leather jacket long hair and i must admit i think i did it. in highschool spanish class we tried to get classmates to be like kotters class. one guy looked and acted like horshack. it was fun back then. things were real simple in 75 not the turmoil like now. one guy that used to hang around with us named ira levine wanted to be vinny also. he looked more like freddy fender with brillo hair. one vicious friend of mine told him "you dont look anything like vinny you fat walrus" looking back that was kind of cruel .

I agree with you that was mean. I was in first grade back in 75. I didn't really start getting into Kotter until 1980. That's when I got hooked and love it to this day.

You're right, things seemed simpler back then. Especially as a kid.
