after watching the encyclopedia hustle episode, I wondered one thing:

how on earth did the blind dude know tha he gave the Evans $5 back and not a hundred or something? Hell, how did he know if even recieved $5, they could have given him a single bill and asked for change...

matter of fact, how did he even manage to walk up in a project building and know what door belonged to what family? I could see if this was a one floor building, but a 10 story project building?

Well I found it odd that he bought Keith a gift when he didnt even know Thelma had a husband. When he arrived Thelma introduced Keith as her husband meaning he didnt know Thelma was married so how is it he bought everyone a gift including Keith?

He could have known that Thelma had gotten married. When someone come into your home you should always introduce people who have never met each other. So he might have known about Kieth he just hadn't met him until them.


In the Encyclopedia Hustle the guy could have been legally blind LOL, Who knows because he sure didn't have a cane.

Simple: The guy had received $5 from everyone he "conned". He had no twentys, tens, or ones. I guess.

He could have used the elevator and it probably had braille with the number buttons on the elevator. I can't recall when that begun, but they have braille on the buttons. Hell, i don't know.:lol:

I dont think that dude was blind. He faked being blind to gain sympathy from people so they'll buy his encyclopedia's. If he was really blind then how would he know what people are giving him? They could be giving him a piece of paper and he wouldnt know it but what gave it away was when he pretended to call someone but remember The Evans' phone was out of order and they didnt tell him that and he went on ahead and pretended to be talking on the phone they showed him pressing the hang up button. He was a con artist. I dont think he was a blind man who is a con artist I think he was a man pretending to be blind to con people.

Yeah, but didn't he have some doctor's note or something from the VA that said he was really blind? I think it was just a goof by the writers.

it was never explained, but yeah, it's supposed to be for lower income families. Maybe the projects in Chicago had a diff. standard or eligibility. Who knows.

You can be single and living in the projects. I don't know where you got that from. Also if you work in a clothing store you will buy things from where you work. When I was 16 I worked at a clothing store and every paycheck I would buy me one thing. After a while that can add up so I can see why Wilona would have great clothes.

I got that from the way it is where I live. An employed, healthy, single and childless person can't live in the projects. Never could and cannot now.

I know in Dallas a single person can apply for low income housing and you don't have to have a kid. I use to work for DHA and there were a lot of single people applying for housing. But when your single your at the bottom of the list.

The mentally challenged and disabled for example would come before the healthy and so on. There are a lot of people who apply so it might take months and months before you can even get a meeting with a councilor. Now they have changed the laws to where you can't have any felony convictions on your record, so if your a felon you are not eligible for government assistance. If you get a drug charge you will be taken off also. A lot of homeless people are either on drugs or alcoholics (I'm not saying all homeless people). There are a lot of guidelines that you have to follow now when your on section 8, such as you have to have a job and work so many hrs a week. And if you make a certain amount of money they will cut your food stamps, or they will cut your utility money.
