Do any of you ever get an email saying you have a new P.M., yet when you come here to S.O., it's not there? For the past several months, this has been happening to me alot, and I'm just curious if this is something that's happening to anyone else?? I received an email notifying me of a personal message at 7:00 pm, and it is now 9:30 pm, and the message still isn't there. Even up where it says private messages, it's telling me I have one unread, yet when I go to it, it's not there. Does anyone know why this is?? Thanks!!

I'm not having the same kind of PM problems, but for the past two weeks, my e:mail notification on SO has been acting wacky.

Most reported posts I get are delayed by either a few hours or an entire day. My e:mail notification when I get a PM is also delayed. I got a couple of PMs from you (Little Mel) and Crystal last night, but got the e:mail notifications this morning. I have to check on my own to see if I have any PMs.

I called AOL and my mail settings are fine. I know the settings are correct on the SO system, so I don't know what to do.

I've been receiving all my PMs (I think anyway). It's the e:mail notifications that are delayed.

As a moderator you know it's important to get reported posts in a timely manner.

I test mine out every few days. I'll report a post on CC and get it six hours or even a day later.

I wonder what's going on or if other moderators are experiencing delays?

That's the thing, I do receive all my pm's, but sometimes they don't show up on the site until hours later. That's the problem I'm having. One time I got a pm notification, and it took 8 hours until the pm actually showed up on the site. I will try what you suggested in the pm you sent me this morning though, and hopefully that'll work. If not, I guess I'll just have to try something else. Thanks for the help!!
