Up to this point, I thought that he a nephew on Uncle Phil's side. I've seen a few episodes where Phil's mother comes to visit, and she and Will treat each other as grandmother and grandson. That's not unusual I guess, since Will really blended in with the family.

It's just that I was surprised to find out he's Viv's biological nephew.

I'm sure it was, but I didn't start watching from the beginning. I was just surprised when I found out.

I think that was clear from the first episode. Uncle Phil describes Will as his nephew by marriage. And I'm POSITIVE, that it was clear way before the Oprah episode.

Janice stated she didn't watch the show from the BEGINNING and only found out from watching that Oprah episode. I can easily see why one would think that Will was Phil's biological nephew.
