i have more problems with emails and aol, than all the other services combined
i dont like aol
i was a former customer and they provided crappy service, im --as they told me-- the only person who ever got out of one of their $300 rebate commitments
i had numerous drops and many email problems as a customer, and it seems the same level of customer care is still exercised
go elsewhere
its certainly no bargain

Strange, I've used AOL for 14 years, and rarely had problems with e-mail delivery. I did turn off the spam filter, because far too many important messages were getting caught in it, but that's not an uncommon problem with spam filters.
Unfortunately, your local software isn't going to have much affect on what reaches your mailbox. If the software doesn't seem to be working, you can always access your e-mail through AOL's web portal, which actually has some nice features.
Oddly enough, my Comcast account, which I have given out to only 3 people, is regularly drowned in spam and pornmail. It's so bad, I don't use it, just periodically check it and purge the spam.
