The first season was very successful. Everyone in the cast did a terrific job. But, in the second season, the creaters took some of the original characters out. That left it harder for the show to have its 'moments.' I think that was a major factor in the show's downfall.

The series went down because the creators weren't going to let Kirstie Alley excercise more of her talents. She deserved much more than what was obviously a show put together in a slap-dash fashion just for it's star.

Some producers and writers seem to feel nothing else is necessary once they cast a major star in a series.

For one, theu moved the show off of Thursday nights. Plus, Kirstie was ticked that whoever played Alec got the role of Alec. SHe wanted the dude who played Hunter because they were dating at the time and wanted to be closer , spend more time toegther. That is why Alec leaves the show in the first place. I think they should have kept Christopher MCDonald (Bryce) on more.

The reason the show was canceled was because of poor ratings. NBC put it and the then failing SUdden;y Susuan on Monday nights, ratings dropped even more, and NBC said good bye.

That was only a rumor that Kirstie wanted her then boyfriend who played Hunter to play Alec. I mean, it could be true, but I highly doubt it. And Ron Silver (Alec) had said that he and Kirstie got along very well. The reason he did not sign on for the third and final season, I read, was that he wanted to persue other things. But, yeah, putting it on Mondays with "Suddenly Susan" was like NBC was trying to murder the series. :happyface

The Monday Night that showed Veronica's Closet, & Suddenly Susan was called Must She TV. Isn't that Cheesy?

I did not know that, though it is not surprising it would be referred to as that. But I find it kind of funny, not cheesy! :happyface :happyface :happyface

Yeah it is kinda funny too. I also think that nbc put fired up, suddenly susan, and caroline in the city on must she tv as well.
