I just love this episode of DVD. I like all the songs in it. I have a few questions about it though. Was that really Morey Amsterdam playing the Cello and was Rose Marie playing the piano? Also did Perskey and Denoff write any other songs off the show? I think they did a real good job with the Laura and Rob's Santa Clause dance scene. And finally the "Fine Musician" ending, was that based off of something or were they the first to do that type of going up and down thing they did?

Hi, gilliganfanatic! Yes, that is Maurey Amsterdam playing the cello. He was well known for that before TDVDS. I honestly do not know if Rose Marie was playing the piano. They also did "I Am a Fine Musician" on an episode entitled "The Sam Pomerantz Scandals."

he does a good job with his solo, thanks for the response. I thought I saw the Fine Musician in another episode. Thanks for clearing that up.

Denoff and Perksy wrote alot of songs. In the early days of their partnership, they worked on the Andy Williams variety specials.

Rob MENTIONS Andy Williams when discussing the kind of show Alan Brady wants, in the flashback sequence? Persky & Denoff knew WHAT kind of show they were writing about....and if they're going to present a "Christmas showcase" involving the cast, let's DO one, a la Andy and "Perry" and "I'VE GOT A SECRET", etc.
