earlier one of my friends and I were talking about how we both thought Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander were going to have big careers after Seinfeld ended, and yet it seems like it's been pretty dry for both of them lately. Jason's appeared in a lot of things but it's not the type of roles you'd think someone from Seinfeld should be getting. Jason is capable of so much more than George and same with Julia and Elaine but it seems like those two have been completely typecast since the shows ended. Plus, Julia is one of the very few actors or actresses period who has the ability to be both sexy and funny (Goldie Hawn's about the only other actress that I can think of with that quality), and that could've easily opened the door to a big movie career for her.

Anybody else agree that you thought that big things were in store for the two of these actors after Seinfeld ended?

I know Julia had been appearing on Arrested development also, but after Listen Up, I hadn't seen Jason in anything else. Julia and Jason were in a movie together during Seinfeld back in 1994, they played a married couple in a movie I believe was called 'North'.

Julia filmed another sitcom pilot, but I am not sure if it was picked up by any network. The last thing I saw Jason in was a Chrysler commercial. To be honest, I thought Michael Richards (Kramer) was going to be a big star and he didn't.

A show like Seinfeld was one of those instances where all things clicked.

There was no way that I- or anyone else I knew at least- thought that the individuals would go on to solo success. (Jerry, only in standup, a lock of course).

Actually, the odds were way against anything like that ever happening.

I never knew that...

I just looked up "North" on yahoo films, it starred Elijah Wood, with Jason billed 2nd and Julia 3rd...

The description for the movie reads:

"Feeling unappreciated by his mother and father, an 11-year-old boy finds a lawyer, declares himself a "free agent" and searches the world for the "perfect" parents"

I'd like to see that one, but it is not listed in Netflix's inventory :(

It raked in $6.5 million (U.S. Box Office)...don't know how many thearters ran it...

I'd like to see it just to see Jason and Julia as husband and wife... actually, I'd just like to see it because Julia's in it :)

Becoming a successful actor for years and years is very hard and most actors should be thrilled to have had one successful tv show or movie. It really isn't easy. I don't beleive the both of them have even tried to make successful movie careers. They have basically stuck to television which is very hard because so many pilots are filmed and only a handfull get picked up as series. Even so, new series don't always make it over half of new series get cancelled there first season. I'm sure they will make a comeback but it takes time.

I saw the first episode of Julias attempted show and found it horrid. It was sad because I had high hopes. She really is talented and I hope she moves on to good things. I have to say the same about Geore, great guy, although I don't think he needs as much of a boost as he's always been an actor that has good roles.
