Finally saw the segment on Spontanious Human Combustion and taped it. It is highly fascinating to say the least. Larry Arnold's book Ablaze sound intresting as well. The whole theory about smoking in bed as being the cause of these deaths is observant but still flawed. Like Arnold said, would a cigarette burn that hot to reduce the human body to mere powder and partially melt and aluminum walker?

I don't recall this ever being discussed here. Let's hear the thoughts on this one.

I have always found this topic SOO interesting, and SOO strange!! I too would like to know how it happens.

Well according to the segment it has something to do with anomalies in brain wave activity and the way the body regulates its body heat.

Maybe it has something to do with an excessive build up of heat within a specific part of the body, different than a fever since a fever is the body's reaction to a cold. Than again maybe a fever could start this drastic rise in heat temp. Of course this is just a hyothesis of mine...
