View Full Version : Re: Episode when Penny's real Mom came back
sdb7373 12-09-2005, 05:16 PM What she did to try and get Penny back was so wrong and that dude he needed to be slapped. That was a horrible thing they did to Wilona but it served Miss Gordon right that Her whole conversation with Wilona was on tape. Here's what i dont get though when Penny told her real mom "Here you can have it" or whatever she said referring to the tape recorder she said "It doesnt matter what anyone says not the court or Miss Gordon she said she would always be with Wilona. She was a minor like 11 or 12 she dont make the decisions about who she will be with. So how could she make that statement? What if the judges say ok Miss Gordon has changed so Penny you have to go back with your real Mother. What was she gonna do keep running away going back to Wilona?????

that is so true...I would've kept that damn tape FOREVER!!! I would have also shown it to the police and received a restraining order against her. Now how dumb was that ending??? so dumb. Penny could have said her statement (worded differently of course) so they could get that damn audience applause:crazy:

I think they were just trying to show Penny's emotions on how much she loved her mother but didn't want to get beat down no more.
Brian Damage 12-10-2005, 04:57 PM Wasn't she officially adopted by Willona at that point? It doesn't make a bit of sense that they would take her away from Willona and give her back to her real Mom who has a record of abuse.

Yep, you're right, she was officially adopted by then. I think it was in the 5th season episode when Penny shoplifts for xmas that the final adoption went down.

True. But also, just because Willona adopted her, doesn't mean Willona can have her child in an environment like that and still keep her. A caseworker would've been brought in and let's assume the worst, Penny is taken away from Willona because of the prostitutes, druggies, etc. Then, Ms. Gordon would have at least have some satisfaction of knowing that Willona lost Penny. Remember, Ms. Gordon hates Willona for butting in to her life to begin with. Her adopting Penny just made her angrier. Ms. Gordon may not have been thinking with a clear head (obviously) but maybe she thought if Penny was outta Willona's home, she may have some sort of chance at getting her back, since she was now "wealthy, living a fine life, etc."

But the social worker was around the neighborhood where Penny was gonna live, She knew it was the ghetto. And as for that little set up that Penny's mother tried to pull on Willona, Willona had people to vouch(sp?) for her to prove that she really didn't hang out with people like that.

no Craftman, what I mean is that if the worst happened and the cops were called in to see "How Willona really lives (the prostitutes, druggies, the ones there in her house) then, when a social worker would have the case, they would ask that the child be removed from the home until they conduct their investigation. That's what happens when there is suspected abuse of a child, whether it's physical abuse or emotion/mental abuse. I am not talking abt the social worker who went to check out Willona when she was trying to get Penny.
nerrad 12-12-2005, 09:00 AM That social worker was a nut, but at least Willona got Penny because of her.
TVFactFan 12-12-2005, 11:08 AM I remember when I first watched this ep, I was about to EXPLODE when Penny was going to give the Tape recorder to her Biological Mother
Janice 12-13-2005, 12:40 AM I watched it last night when the social worker got drunk at the Christmas party. She used to play Esmeralda on Bewitched.
I'm trying to stick with this show, but honestly, I can't stand it without the parents. I'm looking forward to the start of Season One in late December.
pepperkane 12-13-2005, 01:21 AM This is one of my favorite episodes. I love Chip"play everybody mama"fields. Now as I get older I can understand what Penny was saying. Yeah by birth you my mama and apart of me can't forget that. But you and your rich man can't give me a home, a foundation and true family love. See before Wilona and the Evans all Penny saw was pain. The mother in another episode even hinted to what she had to give up cause she had Penny. Now giving tape to pyscho ma may have been stupid but if you think about it all Penny was saying was if this means you can stay out of my life and my mama's then take the tape. You suffered when you saw how happy I am and by turning in the tape, it could have created an emotional drama between the three that Penny was not willing to experience again. Plus she's showing they don't have to stoop to gutter trash like Mrs Gordon is.That's just my opinion.
