First, we know it was wrong for Marcia to make a promise she didn't know she could keep. Second, don't you think the school prom committee was stupid for believing a high school student could get such a star to perform??? They are very gullible and naive people. I would have asked many questions, including, how would you get him to perform...DUH!!!!

Third, I think Marcia's family was just as crazy as her for trying to help her get in touch with Davy Jones. I would have had her march to the school and straight out tell the committee that there is no way she could get him to perform.

Good topic for discussion.

I guess it was unheard of back then for a girl to clear dishes or deliver room service so she had to pretend to be a male. She didn't look any more male than Heather Locklear would. Who wouldn't know she was a female?

When they were talking to the manager from the other room...."I have all your records"....wouldn't they know that wasn't Davy Jones speaking, i.e. no English accent?

Once they saw that it wasn't Davy Jones, Greg should have left too. So what if the guy says "Hey, what about the dishes?" Greg isn't obligated to clean up.

How did Marcia get to the recording studio on her own? It could have been 20 miles away. We're supposed to assume she knew how to get their by bus?

Funny that Mike and Carol actually tried to help Marcia get Davy Jones and let her go to great lengths, but they were very upset when Bobby and Cindy wrote a (fake being sick) letter to get Joe Namath to the house.

Yeah, that's true abt Bobby & Cindy. The same way they had to be upfront and tell the truth, they should have done that same thing with Marcia: "Marcia, you were wrong for lying and making promises that you know you can't keep. You will need to go to the school office and explain to those dummies who believed you, a dumb teen, could get a musical talent like Davy Jones to even acknowledge your stupid ass request! So, go get changed because we are taking your dumb ass over there ASAP to explain this whole mess!!!"

Can u imagine...lol...imagine the producers trying to get John Lennon??? Besides, it was easier to get Davy Jones, which is why Marcia was made President of his fan club. What the real question is, why did the black friend of Marcia's also find Davy Jones thrilling? She could care less abt Davy Jones.

LOL - Besides, why was a teen put in charge to get the entertainment? Shouldn't an adult have done that?

I'm sure if the producers tried really hard, they could've at least got Ringo.

Now, now Irene, if they did that, they would have to have Mike and Carol question if Marcia was a Satan worshipper. ;)

I love how in The Brady Bunch movie, she got Davy Jones to play at the dance, and the chaperones went nuts lol.

I loved this episode! I thought it was cute...I especially loved the Pop-up video version of it! ;)

Actually it was Cindy who wrote the letter, Bobby was just going along with it after the fact. (her writing must have improved since the "Makr Malldrill" incident!)
