View Full Version : Large Storm System Brings Wintery Weather From San Antonio to Maine
Stormtracker TF 12-08-2005, 05:29 AM 22 states being effected by this one....Kansas City got a foot and locally higher. Even Texas got a rare early December winter blast. A Winter Storm Watch was just issued here for 5-9" of snow tonight, over about a 8 hour period.
Basically just made this thread for the people here being effected by it to share what the conditions are like in their neck of the woods since its near the Holiday. :)
Kinda deja-vu like considering it was about a year ago I made a similar thread like this when there was a storm very close to Christmas...

My weather radio came on at 4AM with a heavy snow warning.
The Southern Berkshires, Litchfield Hills in CT, The Catskills are supposed to get 7-12 inches tomorrow. We live about an hour from
the Berkshires so West Sand Lake will get about the same.

I am about 50 miles north of you(Flint area) and we are on the northern fringe of the watch area. We are expected to get about 3 inches starting tonight. Keep warm!:snowman: :snowman3: :wave:
Ags2000 12-08-2005, 11:40 AM Well, down here in South Texas it is COLD for this time of year! It is about 37 and our low is 34. Our windchill factor right now is 22!!!!!
Give me my 80's that I had last week back.

Kazza 12-08-2005, 11:59 AM Our current temperature is 15 with a windchill of 0. We had freezing precip yesterday making the roads slick.Had to pick up my kids early from school and the car went straight when trying to turn right. Today, the kids are in and I'm not driving anywhere.
At least 4 major accidents have happened already and a part of I-20 has been shut down.

Here in NYC, they originally said 3-5" but now they are saying 4-8" and more east, west, and south of the city.
dawsongirl 12-08-2005, 03:28 PM We have about 3 inches or so now. It's freezing!! And all the incredibly stupid people are in the ditches on 80/35 because it is a little slick.

Yeah, thats what my brother was telling us last night as he TRIED to get home. It took him over 3 hours b/c all the roads he usually takes were all closed and he would have to backtrack. :lol:
We are supposed to get some freezing rain down here tonight. Some school's are already planning late starts and others are considering closing.

Brent88 12-08-2005, 11:37 PM Some localized lake effect snow set up in Chicago and has dumped up to 9 inches near Midway Airport(where a 737 ran off the runway at 7:15pm this evening).

Big snows coming in in the past 15 minutes, almost a half inch in about 13 minutes. The snowflakes are about the size of dimes....Its crazy.
