That's why I like the season so much better than season 5. In season 6 it was barely noticeable that Willona had an adopted daughter. I liked how she was IN and OUT. Penny was either see for 30 seconds or not at all. I really enjoyed the interactions between Keith, Michael, Thelma, and J.J

I had to reread your thread title twice...i thought it said 'reduced the screen size'...i thought you were referring to Flo being overweight...

It was good to see Esther Rolle come back for the final season of Good Times. The season she was gone the magic was gone. She was the heart and soul of the series. It was good that J.J. toned down quite a bit and became more responsible.

I sure loved the episode of Stomach Mumps. Florida and Willona went at it and them fighting over the piece of clothing was hilarious. That was outright catty when they had that heated fight. But I did find it rather far fetching that they went to high school together. You can tell there is a significant age difference between Florida and Willona.

I liked season 6 better as well, but not because of Penny's role being reduced. I liked it because season 5 just seemed ridiculous without a mother. Especially during the Christmas episode.
